This is true and tbh it will be hard for them to mess this draft up (on paper at least) as they could simply take bpa every round and the odds are it will improve the team (If they actually play them)

This is where the argument lies. A LOT of people never think who they take is the BPA every round; personally I think they reach a lot for need.

Since there is no actual definiton of BPA it's always going to be a debate. It's like trying to say who makes the best pizza. Lot's of differing opinions.

Yup this is true

I make the best pizza.

I think the issue with that is SF continues to be at the top of reaching vs the overall consensus.

it's one thing to draft Persall who was a consensus mid 2nd rd guy vs Nick Martin, kickers/punters/TEs countless RBs etc who are being taken rounds earlier then they're projected to go.

Overwhelmingly when they "reach" and we're talking really reaching it usually turns into a s**t pick. Their track record in those cases is real bad.

let's stop doing that.

Yeah it's hard to remember the last time we made a pick that's considered a reach by post that ended up working out.

Stout may be the only dude who may buck that trend but it's too early to call. We felt pretty good about Green at corner and that shine is wearing off and there's rumblings of him being traded.

It feels like they go more after high character guys than pure talent. Which I understand in the first couple years of a new regime you want to build a foundation with high character guys to set up that kind of standard. But at this point we have the foundation built. Go after talent first. Sure, you'll still get occasional BAs, but most players will be able to fit in much better because of the culture we've built here.

Coming from you or so called fans like you who think Shanahan is a better coach than Bill Walsh?

Your criticism means nothing to me.

The true definition of a 🤡 are fans like you who think these guys can do no wrong. Then when they are gone off the team, THEN you can criticize them and praise whoever takes over. Rinse and repeat.

I've seen it for 30 years with fans like you.

Ok...here's the ask. I'm going to put it in bold so you don't miss it.

Show me just 1 poster who said Shanahan is a better coach than Bill Walsh. Just 1. If you can't find me a single fan doing that then you get a timeout until the draft?

Otherwise you get in here and apologize for making this nonsense up. If you have to constantly stoop to these made up takes then maybe your point is without merit.

Fans who don't agree with your constant negative whining aren't automatically "team can do no wrong" Some of us just don't want to drown in negativity while following this sport. It doesn't mean we won't call out bad decisions or bad actions by the coaches/team/etc.

You sound like my mom when I was in elementary school.

Behave yourself or you're going in a timeout. WTF is the nonsense? Talk about a 🤡 show

Signing Deebo would be the epitome of "we're trying really hard to quadruple down on that '23 squad that almost won a ring because they deserve one more chance to make up for it, dammit!"

Larry has been such a joke lately. I wish I could remember all of his amazing takes as of late but the Bill Belichick as DC takes the cake. Don't recall the last time he got a take right.

Lynch doesn't clearly reference anyone. He said a super generic comment like we may bring back some players who have been here - literally could be anyone still playing in the NFL as well as our own FAs. Unless I missed it Deebo was never mentioned by name.

I love Deebo, will always appreciate what he's done for this team but I do not want Deebo back. Now if he comes cheap, sure. He's still a good player but you cannot rely on him to be WR1-2 and get good results. WR3+ is the spot for him.

I just don't see Deebo coming back and doing that for us given all the history. Also I think Shanahan is a better playcaller without feeling the need to feed Deebo.
What I really want to know is specifically where the problem resides wrt our poor drafting overall. Do we need better talent scouts? Or are the scouts bringing fantastic player options to John and Kyle, but one of them is over-riding the hot list from the scouting team?
