Left guard will have to be addressed with Spencer Burford a free agent and Ben Bartch's inability to stay healthy.
Yeah they're not serious about winning Super Bowls if they're happy about this OL.
I never expected them to upgrade much more than the left guard spot, but thinking about the ass whooping that the Seattle DL put on the 49ers' OL shouldn't make anyone feel "pretty happy."

Please tell me this wasn't s real quote from Lynch
I mean all of them; not only Lynch, have consistently been saying that they are happy with this group over the years. Maybe it's just time we start believing it and setting ourselves up with false hopes followed by dissapointment
Oh I believe them but it's kind of unbelievable with Kyle's pedigree and the system he runs passed down from his dad who knew a thing or two about elite OL, that he doesn't seem to value quality offensive linemen more. McVay has invested a ton into the Rams top rated oline and have 3 starting caliber tight ends that excel in both blocking and receiving. That is the key to neutralizing Seattle's pass rush but I'm sure they'll sign or draft another "weapon" and think that'll patch up all their problems.

Did he really invest in the OL though? They spent a 2nd on Avila and signed Shelton to a 2/12 mil deal. All other starters were either there prior (Havenstein) or late round picks (McLendon 5 and Dotson 4). I'd argue they are better at getting results

Shanahan Sr. never invested in the Oline either. They always found their mobile, athletic guys later.
Neither coach cares about size or if they are road graders. Mobile, athletic and smart lineman are traits they look for to suit their zone running scheme. We aren't a power run team and never will be under Shanahan.
But sadly, that exact same type of lineman doesn't seem to hold up too well when the games start counting vs the elite D lines or if we have to come from behind where they have to man up in pass pro. That or if our run game isn't working and the play action isn't as effective.
The system works great if we can run the ball and have a lead then the play action is deadly. We don't need a group of elite blockers. But if we have to get pass heavy if we need to come from behind and drop back then they don't have the traits to hold up in pass pro.

A sneaky big move they made was firing former OL coach Kevin Dotson and replacing him with Ryan Wendell in 2023. His hire coincides with the development of a lot of their players and success of their OL. He's been awesome for the Rams.

Too bad KS seems to love Foerster
still hard to stomach them passing on Humphrey and Frazier

Yep, I agree. Foerster is one of Shanny's blind spots.

I'm almost expecting them to just move Colby into starting LG and call it a day.

I can't stand it when they act like nothings wrong with the O-line. It's like Lynch watched a different game when the 9ers played the Seahawks.
Hopefully fans don't continue to trick themselves into thinking this team has a shot at a SB lol.

-Same old FB that has been done for 2 or 3 years
-Injured and agging star TE
-Always reaching for need in the higher rounds
-No offensive evolution
Yeah I'd say that our chances of winning a Super Bowl with this regime are gone

Coming from you or so called fans like you who think Shanahan is a better coach than Bill Walsh?
Your criticism means nothing to me.
The true definition of a 🤡 are fans like you who think these guys can do no wrong. Then when they are gone off the team, THEN you can criticize them and praise whoever takes over. Rinse and repeat.
I've seen it for 30 years with fans like you.
Nobody has said these things. When, or has has anyone else said, Kyle is better than Walsh? Once again, stupid takes by an edgy troll.

Personally I'd rather pay a guy $5 million to be consistent than draft one in the 3rd round to not be.
Dude is 2nd in NFL in FG%. Meet in the middle and keep special teams playing well and not being a constant point of frustration and anxiety.
Who said anything about drafting a kicker in the 3rd rd? Why is it pay a guy top of the market money or use a 3rd rd pick? $5M per is not meeting in the middle
The current 49ers regime. They had a great consistent kicker and decided that they didn't want to pay him big $ and used a draft pick on a kicker and failed miserably.
I'm not saying those are the only two options but I AM saying that this front office has shown us a track record of poor decision making at that position. Call me crazy but I'd rather they pay the consistent kicker who is clearly a good fit in the locker room and has a long career ahead of him.
It doesn't mean Eddy is irreplaceable but I do think peace of mind is worth the money he's likely asking for. Now if we were dealing with a Brandon Aubrey situation...that's another thing all together.
