Dumb not to pay the kicker that was pretty clutch.
Pay a good going rate and if he tanks go get another one.
People don't see it but this is a PRIME position after QB.
A kicker can win or lose you a game singlehandedly.

It's more garbage that people post on here when you're critical and they get all butthurt.
You're either a troll, a fan of another team or have multiple accounts. It is what it is

He may have been on the couch but dude has one of the best kicking % in NFL history. He may have been on the couch cuz he was picking his spot.
I expect Kyle doesn't want to think about that part of the game again anytime soon. He'll be signed.
SF is eddy's 4th team, it's just the life cycle of a kicker who isn't regarded as some elite guy.
im sure they're willing to pay him, but let's stop acting like we got Adam Vinatieri or some s**t. In no way should you be paying him $5M+ per yr. The money has to work both ways…if it doesn't go sign another vet FA for half the price
Nobody cares about kickers until you have one who can't make kicks consistently.
Personally I'd rather pay a guy $5 million to be consistent than draft one in the 3rd round to not be.
Dude is 2nd in NFL in FG%. Meet in the middle and keep special teams playing well and not being a constant point of frustration and anxiety.
I'm just worried about his history of being cut multiple times from teams. It seems like once he gets the yeeps with a team he's not recovering from it.
And you see that with other good kickers around the league too. Jake Elliott last year is just a recent example.

That's the thing it does happen to all kickers but if you look at it was it really the yips?
Bears 82.1 FG% as a rookie - not great but we've seen kickers struggle early then find their way. Chicago is also not the easiest place to kick. Robbie averaged 85.4% in his 11 years there and actually was at 77.8% as a rookie.
He was cut again by the Jets after making every FG for them...good question as to why considering their starter that year was horrendous.
Then his biggest stretch was in Carolina and I think he left as a FA. I don't expect him to play like he did last year but I also want(well not really) to see him fail before I start to worry about his salary.
Basically until a kicker shows he can't make kicks consistently...I hope the 49ers keep them around.

Experience. And it is usually the second one, but not always.
By the way, when you post critical stuff, other posters do not necessarily get butt hurt. More often they just laugh at you.

Who said anything about drafting a kicker in the 3rd rd? Why is it pay a guy top of the market money or use a 3rd rd pick? $5M per is not meeting in the middle

5 million would put Pinero at 11th highest K salary with Chris Boswell and right ahead of Daniel Carlson.
You would think they would want consistency at K and we get a guy who nails 50+ kicks regularly but there's talk we don't want to pay him?
Instead they will pay a bunch of scrub replacement level players like Jason Pinnock, Luke Gifford, Demarcus Robinson, Luke Farrell etc.
This front office sometimes makes you shake your head.

Laugh all they want. I could care less.
But because I am critical of this front office dos that mean I am any less of a fan than you or those who are laughing?

I suppose you're right. Hopefully it's not a long-term contract. Maybe 2 years with a 3rd year option? $5.5mil a year?

You're critical of everything. Show me posts that you've made where you actually applaud anything they do, I'll wait...Hell, you even complain about them signing backups and 3rd stringers.

Why would Kittle have not mattered when it comes to getting 1st downs vs kicking FGs that our kicker missed/got blocked. They had two punts that whole game.
Jesus man do you think we're just gonna be status quo going into week 1 of 2026?
You're the one tossing around dumb propaganda because you think you're a better GM or some s**t lol.
the facts are they won with a healthy roster. We had a vastly different team at the end of the year and not in a good way. Pretending that's an excuse because you don't like that perspective , doesn't make it not true.
Yes, I actually do think we will be status quo.
I want them to spend money but it's not happening. York won't let these guys spend money.
Honestly I don't blame York if there's truth to that. They have paid a lot of people money that have flamed out. The front office needs to prove they can draft the next generation of impact players because if they can't, what they do or don't do in free agency wont even matter. Everything isnt their fault but there's been A LOT of money spent for us to be where we are as a team. Good, but not great- even if healthy.
Outside of a splash at center, York should be cautious.

Well, if you spend your whole time b***hing and moaning, regardless of what the team do, yes!

#49ers GM John Lynch says former Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah is back in the fold in the personnel department.

He's already around and will get finality in terms of title, etc., after draft.
