Don't know how true this is, but apparently Dieter (the guy who claims we might shake our front office up) says we are looking into "someone who has been here before" to take over.

That leaves three possible names: Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, Ran Carthon, and Scott McCloughan.

Kinda meh on all three of those names, tbh. The most eye-popping is McCloughan but he's been gone from football for nearly a decade, no?

That crossed my mind too. God I hope not!

Can someone verify that is exactly what he said? I missed that. Only dude that makes sense is Ray because he's worked with everyone here. All those other names makes zero sense with Kyle here.

Tbf—I'm just going off of a Reddit post on the 49ers subreddit lol. I did precede what I said with "don't know how true this is" for a reason.

not seeing where he said here before?

I thought Kyle smith was gonna be in play for a FO role this off season. Shanny always talked highly of him

He said it in his latest episode apparently—not sure if that's the latest episode since it's from four days ago.
Draft picks in the first round since 2017.

2017.....Rueben Foster.....
2017.....Solomon Thomas.....
2018.....Mike McGlinchey.....
2019.....Nick Bosa.....
2020.....Brandon Aiyuk.....
2020.....Javon Kinlaw.....
2021......Trey Lance..... (3 1st round picks. We didn't have any in 2022 and 2023)
2024.....Ricky Pearsall.....
2025.....Mykel Williams.....

I got 1/9 picks and some traded away that we didn't have. Somebody should be fired for this. Yet this is the guy who is perfect, irreplaceable and nobody else can ever coach this team. You can't win like this.

You were running around claiming victory with Pierce, now he's probably going to jail for attempted murder or some s**t…any objective person knows you don't grade drafts for the first couple seasons.

My favorite thing about his critique is you apparently need to get multiple All-Pros and a major award like DPOY to be considered a successful draft pick.

Aiyuk could still be considered a successful pick depending on how you look at it (he was an All-Pro that gave us critical plays in the playoffs) and same with Mike McGlinchey who netted us a comp pick when he was done. Pearsall and Williams it is WAAAAY too early to call them busts lol

I'll give you the rest but "1-for-9" is absolutely not how you can fairly describe this. Does a player seriously need to win DPOY or they're a bust?

Now do the 2nd and 3rd round picks. It's even worse.

It's all confirmation bias. It unserious debate. Schneider was literally one of the worst drafters for almost a decade…all of a sudden he's the goat lol. Helps when you got 11+ top 50 picks in 4 drafts (and some high ones that).

I think people need to understand that not every draft is equal, some years you got a plethora of great prospects. Some yrs that's not the case.

also I'm not defending Lynch, imo he's been underwhelmed for the most part. End of the day all it takes is one or two good drafts and it turns the program around.

I'll have to check it out….I enjoy their football talk, honestly I don't know how informed Dieter is. I can't think of one breaking news thing he's done.

Got look at Schneider from 2013-2021 if you want to see dogs**t drafting

Now I don't think we've been amazing, but this team is still winning games, going to playoffs and SBs. So proclaiming we got a s**t roster is kinda silly. BUT we need to do better for sure

You see that's the funny part:

It either has to be "Kyle is an excellent coach carrying a trash roster to a deep playoff run nearly every year" or it's "Kyle is lucky he keeps getting all these stars."

It can NOT be "Kyle and Lynch are BOTH trash" because if they are, how do we have 9 playoff wins and 2 Super Bowl appearances under them? Or are we going to pretend that's the same thing as 0 playoff appearances because "nO rInGz!!!!"

Yup gotta love those vague well it's probably not gonna happen but "what I heard" reports lol. Either way he can't get called out.

I find it highly unlikely they bring in anyone this off season…let alone someone that's never worked with Kyle and this staff (Trent or Scotty).
