I really don't get why people keep proposing these "Mac Jones + picks for a star WR!!" trades. I keep hearing them for Garrett Wilson or Justin Jefferson but the truth is, Mac does very little for the Jets/Vikings without those WR's.

It makes zero sense for a team to trade away a star WR just to get a quarterback back who will have nobody to throw to.

A king's ransom of picks for these star WR's makes more sense than Mac + picks. Heck, trading Mac to a third team and then flipping whatever pick or picks we get for him makes more sense.

If a team trades away a star WR, they're clearly either blowing it up (Giants when they traded OBJ) or they're resetting and don't need a QB (Chiefs when they traded Tyreek). Neither makes sense to get a QB back in the trade.

Teams aren't going to want to do that. It's like upgrading from a meh suburban home to an okay suburban home but in order to do it you have to trade in your 2023 Ferrari for a 1975 catalytic. Upgrading your house is always nice but you need a car that will last more than a month to live in the suburbs.

Mac Jones was leading the league in passing YPG with Kendrick Bourne as his top pass catcher.

Considering our track record with drafting we need to be going all in to trade our picks for proven players.

Trent Williams, CMC, Warner, Bosa and Kittle aren't getting any younger.

Last year was the time to do it but we chose to clean house when we should have gone all in with the home Super Bowl and the inferior QBs we went against .

Trade for Crosby
Sign Linderbaum
Trade Mac for a WR

Championship

At first I thought it was AI though it looks a little too real. Perhaps it was from a scrimmage before our preseason game against them last season?

They aren't paying for Linderbaum. We can just move on from that idea imo. Love to have him but he's gonna be paid stupid money (if he even leaves Baltimore). This is an incredibly poor FA class and teams have a ton of money. He's gonna get 💰

I'm hoping for a mauling LG, possibly someone like John Franklin-Myers, and a play maker (either TE or WR) in FA. I'll be shocked if we go that hard

When NFL players start spending their time releasing songs, it's probably not a good idea to start giving up valuable draft capital to trade for them 😂

We paid top dollar for Weston Richburg and signed Alex Mack.

Shanahan loves his centers.

But if he sticks with Brendel Im hoping for Zion Johnson for LG.

Add some mid tier guys David Njoku and Joey Bosa.

Then some depth players like receivers Tyquan Thornton and Lil'Jordan Humphrey and DT David Onyemata.

It probably doesn't happen, but he's been connected here for a while. Looks like he has a rapport with Kyle and Co. LV has Brady, the GM and Kubiak running stuff now…none of those guys harbor anything bad towards SF.

this isn't the Oakland Raiders anymore. Personally no way I see him worth giving up what GB did for Parsons. He's a damn good player but he's not that young and imo is a tier below him.

I'm for the trade if it makes sense, but if we're talking about multiple 1sts, why not try and sign Hendrickson instead (if healthy)?
Don't know how true this is, but apparently Dieter (the guy who claims we might shake our front office up) says we are looking into "someone who has been here before" to take over.

That leaves three possible names: Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, Ran Carthon, and Scott McCloughan.

Kinda meh on all three of those names, tbh. The most eye-popping is McCloughan but he's been gone from football for nearly a decade, no?

We had a different OL coach when we signed Richburg and the center $$ has gone up a lot since then. Alex Mack signed a 3yr $15M deal.

I mean using your PFF number Brendel was a top 10 center last yr.

Probably about a dozen IOL that I would be cool with signing.

yeah I don't want either of those WRs. IMO pointless signings, maybe on the PS or something.

there will be guys getting cut soon that will be worth looking at.

I listened to that pod and I didn't hear him say someone that was already here before? Just that if they were hired it would be under the impression that John isn't making all the calls

PFF had McKivitz ranked about 20 spots higher than Purdy on it's list of top 101 players. McKivitz played much better this season but they can't be serious.

That crossed my mind too. God I hope not!

I had forgotten about Kwesi, but there is surely nothing in his background to justify giving him the reins. Nor Ran, for that matter. I don't know if Scotty is off the sauce but his involvement with the NFL has been somewhat limited for quite a while.

How about "none of the aforementioned "?

Can someone verify that is exactly what he said? I missed that. Only dude that makes sense is Ray because he's worked with everyone here. All those other names makes zero sense with Kyle here.
