Everyone has mentioned Addison, but what about trading Mac to the Jets for Garrett Wilson if hes available?

Uncle Sherm actually just discussed this as a possibility. I'd be all for it, but we'd need to throw in a draft pick. Mac has a little Namath in his personality—plus they both went to Alabama.

I mean Wilson is on another level, he also just got paid a s**t ton of money. Jets aren't gonna eat that DM and SF would have to give up more. Not realistic.

I think folks are overvaluing Mac. IMO if we can land Addison and a late day 2 pick (or maybe a 4th at worst) that would be a home run deal, considering he's our backup and on a one yr deal.
Got a feeling if lynch doesn't have a kick ass off season, he's gonna be out after this yr.

Seeing as to how the Vikings just dumped Adofo-Mensah for failure to improve via the draft, that is a possibility

100 percent , he on 1 year deal and he clearly been the problem, if he doesn't kill it this offseason he done here, with that said I expect us to be extremely aggressive because of this

I think Lynch's seat should be warm, but it would create such an awkward situation if they fire him. Who hires the GM? Jed/Paraag or Kyle? Does Kyle now answer to that guy? Can that guy fire Kyle?

It could all unravel into a dysfunctional s**t show again, and ultimately, it all falls back on the Yorks. They created this mess. The reason the GM/HC dynamic is the way it is because no real good HC candidates wanted to coach here and work for the Yorks.

What mess?

Huh? I said it in the post: the front office-head coach power structure.

Guess we have differing views on what a mess is.

Yep, because this is without a doubt a messy dynamic. There are blurred lines of authority. The coach was hired before the GM; the head coach selected the GM; the GM doesn't outrank the head coach; there's a tertiary executive(Paraag) involved. John Lynch's role in the front office is more collaborative than authoritative. The entire 49ers' front office-HC power structure violates conventional NFL power structure of owner > GM > HC.

which circles back to John Lynch being replaced and the questions that arise that I posted above.

Lol by the way you are describing it this has been one epic failure. You are certainly entitled to your opinion and I don't disagree with all of it . There just seems to be a lot of post season emotion right now due to the instant success of 1-2 of the rams and Seahawks recent drafts, which I get.
Now that the salary cap is more than projected i can't wait to hear how we overpaid for a player.

But we all already knew this. There are no young impact players on this team. Personnel wise, the 49ers have maintained competitiveness only due to a core of star players. Unfortunately, we're quickly approaching the precipice where that aging core will no longer be able to carry them.

They BADLY need to hit a few homeruns in the draft starting now. They desperately need to pass the baton onto the next generation.

I'm surprised that you judge rookies on their 1st or partial 1st year.

I ties back to rams hitting a home run in 2 drafts with immediate impact players, which is not the norm. Not going to write off the niners last 2 draft classes because if what the rams and Seahawks did. I get the frustration though
