Well they don't seem to want to draft and develop at that position so I would love it, and he's only 25.
Draft a top left guard and our OL would be much improved.

This would tie Creed Humphrey at $18M a yr as highest paid Center, I don't know if the 49ers do that, that's a lot of money, not against the move, need to upgrade over Brendel, just that's a lot to allocate to the center spot.

I won't be mad if they draft one within first two rds, and one who is capable of sliding to guard if his name is called... you know how we always catch the injury bug. He'd get groomed to be center / get experience right away

It's quite possible that he could beat out Brendel by regular season or come playoff time

Thus far I am leaning towards us keeping Mac Jones. It will take a ridiculous offer to make us come up off of him. Dude was clutch last year and once he leaves us next offseason he is gonna command a nice bag due to having two years under his belt in this system

I don't think either of us said its not worth it, we're both saying thats alot of money to the center spot where we definitely need an upgrade. With that amount of money its highly unlikely, but not impossible since 49ers have thrown money at the center position before under Kyle with Richburg and Alex Mack.

Yup I agree. Trade him and sign some other highly prized draft pick who's shown flashes but hasn't lived up to expectations for reclamation project #3. Lets turn this into a new revenue source for the 49ers in the draft each year. Put Mac Jones in a situation that he's likely to thrive in. Say he does, the perception will be there's two QB's that Shanahans now fixed. If you can turn that into a third now hope turns into expectation and Shanahan reclamation projects become very valuable going forward.

Why I mean by a ridiculous offer is the Alex Smith deal. A 2 and a 2 because if we keep him someone will sign him and we will get up to a 3rd rd comp pick for him so for us to forego his services we will need at least a 2
