You are so full of s**t. And you never answered my question. Why would you want all those guys back like Collins and Hargrave when you said they were complete whiffs?

The salary cap noise is just that. Noise.

Only casual fans believe that when Lynch said they need to do a reset it wasn't because of the cap, it was because York told him to cut salary because he was tired of not getting any returns on his investments.

Your recent posts demonstrate that you are either woefully ignorant of how the salary cap works, or you deliberately refuse to acknowledge it in order to support your rant against GM Lynch. In either case, you are looking like a fool, and numerous posters recognize it.

Further, your assertions about Jed York forcing Lynch to cut salary is baseless. There is no evidence to support such a claim. It is just another example of you ignoring facts. At present, the 49ers have the 2nd highest player payroll in the entire league. Lynch could cut payroll by 10% and STILL be in the top 10 spending teams. Your claim is nonsense.

You are entitled to your opinion of John Lynch but you will not be allowed to lie in order to support your premise.

How am I lying?

You're just allowed to spew baseless claims like that too about me? Just because you're a moderator? I see how it works.

There was plenty of documentation and "speculation" that York wanted to cut payroll. Is that better for you?

As for looking like a fool, again, that's what is said to guys who have different opinions and for moderators to say that is very off-putting.

I said we have 61 million in cap space for next year with Aiuyk off the books and would have had MORE THAN ENOUGH to keep all our guys and bring in others but we didn't. So there has to be a reason. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why.

Or are you disputing these claims? 61 mil under the cap wouldn't be enough to keep our guys we let go? Is that what you are saying?

As to York: I've seen no documentation of him saying a payroll cut was in order. Until you provide that evidence, you have only the "speculation" to which you admit. So, change you post to read that there was speculation that York wanted pay cuts and you would be more honest.

At the time Huf, Collins, and Hargrave were let go, Aiyuk was still on the roster and there were no plans to get rid of him. In fact, the FO was still considering him a strong part of the future. Chronology is critical to your argument, and it is not on your side. As it stands right now, with Aiyuk still on the roster, the team is $34 million under the cap. Collins and Hargrave were both performing at a disappointing level, when they weren't injured. Huf was coming off a major injury and wanting to get paid. Resigning those three would have used up all of that $34 million. That is the picture Lynch and Marathe was looking at at that time, a fact you conveniently ignore.

As to the future, we still don't know how the Aiyuk situation is going to go down, and no competent GM would make critical roster decisions based on what is known at this time. I'll let cap experts like AB81 and Overthecap sort out the number when something substantial happens.

As to how you are viewed by other posters, I'll let you read comments and come to your own conclusion.

All you talk about is the salary cap. But now that we got rid of the Aiuyk debacle we will have $61.7 mil in cap space next year.

But you're telling me we couldn't afford 10 mil each for Maliek Collins and Javon Hargrave? we could have easily restructure them.

And yes, Alfred Collins may be good but he isn't right now. 10 tackles, 0 sacks and 12 pressures with a 47.2 grade from PFF and we still can't stop the run. He isn't close to what Maliek or Hargrave would have brought.

That's my whole point. A home SB and an easy schedule and we cut productive players. Keeping those two guys wouldn't have prevented us from drafting Collins either and we wouldn't be forced to start Kalia Davis or Jordan Elliot at DT.

But I get it. Guys like you need to throw constant praise on our own players and slam guys when they are gone. It's what you guys always do. Like it's some kind of coping mechanism.

You find me one publication that had Nick Martin as a 3rd round pick. Everyone had him as a 5th round or later pick. He was over drafted and he doesn't have a position on the team. It was a wasted pick if he can't play anything other than WILL. We do it every single year and waste picks like they are candy.

Greenlaw would have stayed if we paid him what he wanted. Same for Hufunga. 15 mil a year for an All Pro safety is peanuts.

And saying Hargrave didn't do anything for us is absurd. In his first year with us he had 44 tackles and 7 sacks and was one of the best pass rushing DT's in the league.

You can slam Deebo all you want but I guarantee you weren't saying that stuff about him when he was here. He isn't a diva like Aiuyk. Not even close. The dude wants to win.

And Farrell has been good? How? He has done nothing and doesn't see the field over Juice. Woerner is 10x the blocker Farrell is and is cheaper. It was a panic signing and we over paid after we F'ed up and let Woerner leave.

Same for Robinson. We let superior player leave and replaced him with a worse one. Plain and simple. I like Brian Robinson but he isn't in Jordan Masons class.

Sugar coat it all you want but these guys never thought we would be 10-4 and they failed big time by not making roster moves to improve the team. We have the cap space, we will have the cap space next year and we should have gone all in for a chance to win the SB at home.

Your takes are at best casual fan based and at worst delusional.

I guarantee you'd be in here last year b***hing up a storm about half those players you're now crying about the 49ers not retaining.

Hargrave? A massive whiff of a free agent signing who missed the majority of last year, didn't fit well
with the scheme we were running and played poorly vs the run.

Collins I felt personally wouldn't been good to keep but he was a one dimensional player and there was no future for him here beyond 2025. Team made a decision to reinvest in youth at DL and guess what happens when you have vets to play ahead of the young guys?

Hufanga was an ok safety here. One overblown year where he had a bunch of splash plays and the least earned All Pro selection. Guy couldn't stay healthy here and not someone you extend(I'm sure you'd be complaining at the 49ers paying an injury prone player that type of money)

Greenlaw was the only real loss. We all know that story and it's hilarious that you think he would've stayed…while the WAGs were throwing his girl a goodbye dinner before FA even started. He was a goner.

Deebo not a diva? Can't take you serious at all
with that. Unlike Aiyuk he actually complained about not getting the ball enough. Couldn't shake man coverage at all in the SB and hasn't been clutch since 2021. The man literally stated the "trade me" and the delete 49ers from social media playbook that Aiyuk used in his negotiations.

You continue to put out a bunch of nonsense because you don't understand what's happening and then acting like everyone who calls you out are the crazy ones.

There are moves you can criticize for sure with this front office but making the list that you did is either an insanely casual take or you're here to troll everyone.

Enough with this BS that we overdrafted players, there's no such proof to it, for the love of god enough with these silly "dream scenarios", you sound as bad as 9moon with his ridiculous trade ideas.

As for the guys you mentioned, no way are/were we paying HUfanga the money he got, or another Safety that kinda money, and I don't give a s**t about the Pro Bowl.

Collins was cut, big deal we added someone who might be a star in Alfred Collins.

Greenlaw, he wanted to be the LB1, he chose to not stay here, we outbid the Broncos, but he chose DEN, get that through your thick head.

Hargrave didn't do s**t for us, hasn't been that great for MIN, 4 sacks or not, not worth the $20M+ a yr we paid him.

Deebo wanted out, he would have sat out most likely, biggest diva like Aiyuk, and you want him here, just cause he has 600 yards and 5 TDs? C'mon, no guarantee he played anywhere near that here, he always showed up overweight.

Woener vs Farrell is a wash, both are subpar TEs, #2 or #3 at best, so what we gave him $16.8M, bigger issues than that, plus he has played good for us in his limited time.

Mason vs Robinson is another wash, Robinson has been really good for us, plus we weren't paying him what he got.

All you talk about is the salary cap. But now that we got rid of the Aiuyk debacle we will have $61.7 mil in cap space next year.

The idea of having these players if they played up to their deals is a nice thought but they didn't, and the idea of just redoing their deals is a bad idea, we're already over the 2027 cap, with Aiyuk here bare in mind, so any redo would take away more cap room in 2027, and the whole we have so and so isn't a great argument, those guys you mention may have taken up more than the $34M or $61M or whatever in 2025, 2026 or 2027, just cause we save X amount by trading Aiyuk doesn't automatically mean we could keep all of those players, eventually their cap numbers would rise big time, you can only have low cap numbers foe the first 2-3 yrs, then in ys 4-6 they skyrocket, look at most big money multi year deals around the NFL.

And the only reason we have as much cap room projected in 2026, yes projected cause Jauan, Bourne and others will earn NLTBEs that take away from out projected 2026 cap room is because we have close to $20M in cap room right now that would be carried over into 2026, without that we wouldn't have anywhere near the projected amount in 2026 that we currently are projected to have.

You dont consider Aiyuk one? I get that he is gone but I considered him a #1. I ask because T.O. is like the 2nd greatest receiver ever lol. Who would you consider a number 1 receiver that IS NOT going to the Hall of Fame?

I do not consider him a top end #1 before the knee injury and definitely not in the wake of the injury.

He may have been a de facto #1 given the state of our WR room at the time.

Given the history of the position in the 49ers' organization BA was a great #2.

We were so hard up for a good WR that we loved him because he was as good a WR as we've had since TO.

Longtime fans have witnessed what a #1 actually looks like for me he was not that. YMMV on that point.

Putting any receiver up against our history isn't fair. We have the clear no. 1 and possible no. 2 receivers of all time. Virtually anyone will fall short. I thjnk in this system he could've been that guy. In any other system, not so much. I expect Aiyuk to look like top 15 to 20 at best wherever he goes.

I never thought he was a $28 million dollar a year #1. I'm not sure I'd put him in the same class as guys like Ja'marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Jaxon Smith Njigba or some of the other receivers who got their bag in the last few years. I would take Aman Ra St. Brown and Puka Nacua over him as well. He was a good fit for this system because he was willing to block and did a pretty good job of it. He also had some really good games, but I never saw him as a game changer, which is what you pay $28 million a year for.

He definitely isnt that and I hated the price tag, but we waited too long. Honestly Im glad this is all over. Short of getting guys truly in that tier I don't want to see another receiver on this team making more than George Kittle unless you are truly that guy. I'd even argue if there were another great blocking and decent pass catching TE, we'd be better served going there than spending significant money at the receiver position.
Forgot to say this, I think Jauan Jennings is likely gone, Jakobi Meyers just got a 3yr $60M extension, I think over $40M GTD, not sure the 49ers, nor myself, will give Jennings that kind of deal.

Love how this place is a dick measuring competition about who's the biggest 49er fan.

Someone says something another person doesn't agree with and out comes the "you're a casual 49er fan" or "go cheer for another team"

Typical.

when takes are rooted in ridiculousness, its safe to assume the poster doesn't really watch the games. i mean you think Nick Martin is a bust. that's a hella casual fan take.

20 mil is plenty to have kept Hufunga, Greenlaw, Collins and Hargrave (assuming the two latter would restructure) and we would still have 40 mil in space next year.

Regardless, not improving the team with a home Super Bowl is in-excusable. The time to go all in was last offseason. If it didn't work we at least made a run to win a Championship at home and could have had a rebuild this coming offseason.

McVay has certainly opened some eyes with his 13 package. I'm sure we will see teams trying to copy that.

Not how contracts in NFL work.

You're not listening, even if we were able to keep those 4, we would have had less cap room in 2026 than what we're projected to have, by restructuring Collins & Hargrave that takes away from the 2026 cap, and if we kept Hargrave his 2026 salary would have went up, and would have been fully GTD, Collins wasn't even signed for 2026. Plus if you add in those 4 we wouldn't have the near $20M in cap room right now.

I don't see how we're rebuilding in 2026, idk what makes you think we'll be doing that, and going all in hasn't worked well for the majority of the NFL that has gone all in.

And if you're not a casual then the alternative is you're here to troll.

Your post shows you have absolutely no clue how roster building works or how the salary cap works. And you have absolutely insane expectations and takes that are hard to take seriously. And yet you're adamant you're the correct one in this thread.

You tell me which one is accurate? Casual or troll?
