By the time we finish playing the Colts, Bears and Seahawks, our SOS is going to come out about .485. Is that an easIER schedule? Sure. But this constantly repeated take that we have the easiest schedule in football is just not true. .485 would mean the typical opponent on our schedule finished better than 8-9. And that's also a very typical SOS for a playoff team—since you're giving your opponents L's more often than not.

The Broncos/Patriots schedules look like cakewalks compared to ours.

Still the easiest in the league.

What does this arbitrary BS even mean lmao. "Average opponent ranking"? Reminds me of ESPN QBR. Something we still don't even have the formula for to this day but is used to push narratives.

I'm using SOS (stands for Strength of Schedule, btw) to determine schedule strength. Like normal people (and the NFL literally in their tiebreakers for the standings and draft) do. Why are you ignoring the basic fundamental for determining schedule strength? Next you're going to tell me points and final scores don't actually determine wins and losses.

Way too many stats now. Most were invented by stat geeks and not football people. Stats are fine fo fantasy footballl but the real games are decided on the field. The players don't give a s**t about stats and rankings when the game is going.

As for 10-4, look at our opponents. We'd be 14-0 if Lynch actually made some moves in the offseason.

This roster is not good. We are ageing and all our star players are injury prone. If they don't start hitting on some draft picks the future will not be bright. Especially with a much harder schedule next year.

you can't have a bad roster and be 10-4. If Warner, Bosa, and Aiyuk were playing like they expected this would be a Super Bowl caliber team.

Lynch has made plenty of moves over the years. Yes he has swung and missed just like every other GM who is willing to make moves. We had 1 reset year (this past offseason) and are currently 10-4 coming out of that reset. But here you are complaining. What a joke.

You can have a bad roster if every team we have played has a worse roster than us.

Let's see what happens when we play a real team.

I'm surprised you are saying we have a better roster than the Rams and Seahawks.

They have an aggressive GM who makes moves to put them over the top. Unlike ours.

Imagine if the Rams had the easiest schedule in the league and the SB in their barn. How many moves would they make? The only moves we made were releasing guys who would have helped us this year and letting guys leave to go on and be stud players on other teams.

Eh don't agree with that. But each his own

What's not to agree with? please explain to me how Lynch has made our team better than the team we had last year? If it isn't for a league easiest schedule, CMC playing out of his mind and great coaching we wouldn't have won a game.

But how about some reference:

-Not re-signing Hufunga who is on his way to a Pro Bowl and replacing him with Jason Pinnock.

-Cutting Maliek Collins (74.5 PFF, 28 pressures and 8 sacks) and replacing him with Alfred Collins.

-letting Greenlaw leave (74.4 PFF) and replacing him with Luke Gifford.

-cutting Javon Hargrave (67.5 PFF, 28 pressures, 4 sacks) and replacing him with CJ West.

-Trading Deebo who has 604 yards and 5 TD's and replacing him with Demarcus Robinson.

-giving 16.8 million dollars to Luke Farrell for 15 snaps a game and letting a better TE walk in Charlie Woerner a year before for 12 mil

-Trading Jordan Mason (659 rushing yards, 4.7 YPC, 6 TDs and replacing him with Brian Robinson

-Drafting a DE 11th overall who isn't a great pass rusher.

-Drafting a LB with a 5th round grade in round 3 who can't see the field over guys like Luke Gifford, Curtis Robinson and former 7th round pick Tatum Bethune. Why even take him if all he can play is WILL and we already had Winters?

That's just brilliant GM'ing there and excellent roster decisions. Literally every player we let leave was replaced with a replacement level quality player.

what do you mean what's not to agree with? I don't agree with you assertions .lol. You just seem to whine and complain a lot. Must be a miserable season for you

Our depth is so bad right now. right????

10-4

LOL at you. Most of those moves were the right moves. You fail to mention anything about being up against the salary cap. Niners had to reset their roster and they've done just that. Your team, the Rams, had to reset a few years ago and they are just fine now.

Who's fault was it that we were tight against the cap and have 95 mil in dead money?

They are not against the cap and have 60 mil this offseason
they have the 5th toughest schedule based off of this seasons results
they have 3 guys who have made mid season all pro and a 4th who made their 2nd team. Mind you this is without 2 all world players being out the year, ayiuk out for the year and kittle and purdy missing the bulk of the year
their rookies have directly contributed to multiple wins this season, one against your rams

lol be better

You keep making this same argument all the time, "We should have kept _________ ." (fill in the blank), without the slightest regard to their performance with the team or the price tag they represented. The Niners knew Brock's payday was coming, so they had to make decisions based around that. They weren't going to be able to afford what Greenlaw and Hufunga would have been asking, and I think there has been some reporting the Greenlaw felt like he was ready to move on anyway. Deebo didn't want to stay. I don't recall the situation around Collins. Hargrave hardly did anything for the team while he was here except be hurt. The team wasn't going to pay Mason when they have a proven record of finding RBs in the later rounds or as UDFAs. They may have overpaid for Farrell but that's the NFL these days. They didn't draft Mykel Williams to be a pass rusher and, as has been pointed out several times, Nick Martin plays a different LB position than all of the guys you mentioned. I think the bigger mistake was in extending Aiyuk, who I think was pretty good, but not worth anywhere near the $28 million a year they agreed to pay him.

They did pick up Mac Jones who, literally, saved their season. White and Ferrell have been doing pretty well, along with Huff, who is being asked to do a lot more than they envisioned with Bosa out. He was supposed to be a complimentary piece rather than the whole show. Skye Moore has solidified the return game and Robinson might have come across as a better pick-up if Kyle would ever put him into the game, though he has contributed.

Maybe you should try and start looking at things the way they are rather than the way you want them to be. Oh, and by the way, did you notice that the team was 10-4 with a legitimate path to the #1 seed in the NFC? If they don't get there, it will likely be due more to the absence of guys like Fred Warner, Nick Bosa and, yes, Mykel Williams, who was doing a really good job setting the edge and playing the run, which is what he was drafted to do, then any of the guys on your list.

Head Coach & General Manager Duos

This is 18 months old but is still a pretty valid list. I would drop the Browns off the list since they have shown to be pretty much a joke and add Patriots Vrabel/Wolf instead. McVay/Sneed are probably #1 at this point.

Apparently those wins didn't count because Seattle and the Rams didn't take it seriously enough. The 2nd game is more important...you know the one where we're missing critical defenders and who knows what else.

Guess Panthers have a better roster than the Rams.

Can we change your name to Captain Hindsight? Feels more fitting...

Also i'm laughing at most of those. You don't even know what positions some of these guys play but here you are complaining up a storm.

What's cool is I've been a fan of this football team longer than you have been alive

My question would be why are you criticizing Lynch when he doesn't do the financial side of the GM job and you're aware ownership wanted to pull back on spending.

Because it was Lynch who forced York to cut spending because of all their whiffs and terrible decisions.

Any other person in a leadership role who has failed so bad would have been fired by now

I'm not a Lynch fan either but the teams 10-4 record is going to buy him more time with ownership

You seem to be making a cap based argument but it flies in the face of two things that should be known:

1. Lynch isn't doing the money side of the job. He's also limited in his capacity for personnel decisions.

2. Ownership wanted to limit cash spending, which has little to do with the salary cap (which again Lynch does not manage anyway).

wait. If these were all whiffs and terrible decisions, why are you whining about them cutting those whiffs/terrible decisions and/ or letting them walk in FA?
