You've got that right! Some are satisfied with mediocrity.

If the current 49ers are mediocre then you'd probably be in the fetal position crying if you were a fan of just about any other team.

Lol

Not really, it was giving credit for what they have done here, what exactly in the post is loser mentality? "If you see success as winning an SB and nothing else... you will be disappointed" ?

Just curious but with all b***hing and complaining all you arm chair GMs do who do you give the credit to for the 49ers success since Lynch and Shanahan took over? Or are they not a successful organization in your eyes?

Some people think unless you have won a SB Championship you have had no success. I used to think like that but the older I've gotten the more I realize that isn't true. Especially since we are all just fans. It hurts when the 49ers lose a SB. Up until 2012 I had never experienced that. I look back on those seasons the 49ers made it to the SB and lost, NFC Championship Games and lost and as much as it hurt in the moment man those seasons were fun. Lot's of memories with friends and family being entertained by my favorite sports team.

I'm almost 50 and to me sucess as fan is defined as was I entertained? Were there lasting memories created? Yes and yes. I'm so appreciative of the job Kyle and John have done here bringing the 49ers back to relevancy. Do I wish they would have done some things differently? Absolutely. But they have done an awful lot right. If this is a rebuild year wow, it doesn't feel like one. 9-4 and currently the 4th toughest schedule by average DVOA.

I'll ask again who do you give the credit to for the 49ers mostly sustained success since 2019? Or would you prefer Terry Donahue, Trent Baalke, Mike Nolan, Mike Singletary, Dennis Erikson, Jim Tomsula or Chip Kelly to come back because John and Kyle have done nothing in your eyes?

If you see success as winning a SB and nothing else I don't care what team you are fan of you will be disappointed the majority of your lifetime. As a fan and not someone who makes their living working for this organization why in the world would you want to do that to yourself?

Best post that I have seen on this site in a while. You are a true sports fan.
He has drafted so many early round busts.

And had so many mid to late round successes as well as good trades. (Trent Williams and CMC) Fans get too hung up on what round players are selected in. All those crappy teams over the years that draft early every season must be really bad at drafting because they never win a SB or even get to one.

Much like every other GM. But maybe remember the later picks and some of the free agency pickups which were outstanding. The management of a team is not just the first couple of rounds in each draft. It is also, to be fair, not clear who has the ultimate responsibility for those particular draft picks. The more you read up, the more it seems like a team effort.

Mitch W
Javon Kinlaw
Lance (LOL)
Aaron Banks

He really excels in drafting DL busts. The jury is still out for the 3 DL this year. For where Williams was drafted he was mid.

The Shanahan/Lynch era has been great. Great, well organized, and entertaining football for the majority of the games. Much better than watching the painful incompetence and comedy of errors during the Eriksson, Tomsula, Kelly, Nolan, and Singletary eras. SB win is the frosting on an already delicious cake.

Even as much as I loved the winning that Harbaugh brought, his offenses were so painful and boring to watch. Wouldn't lump him in with the likes of Eriksson, Tomsula, Kelly, Nolan, and Singletary, but so much happier with Kyle's offense.

Yet he never had a losing record.

They come across as whiney teenagers who yell at their parents because they don't buy them everything they want.
I wonder how many fans on this website ever go back and make lists like this foor all the othere teams in the league. I'm sure they would look similar. Like I posted above, why aren't all those teams that are bad every season and getting higher draft picks than the Niners winning.

Everyone with half a brain knows that the draft is a crapshoot. Unless you pick first overall you have to hope the player you want is available when your turn comes up. Then you have to hope he stays healthy and ends up being a good fit for your team. Sometimes it all falls your way and you look like a genius. When it doesn't then everyone says you suck. That's the life of a GM.

Rams again first 4 rounds. Bold are proven players. They do a better job with the first 4 rounds. My guess is they do just as well in the later rounds as well.

Byron Young
Kobie Turner
Stetson Bennett
Logan Bruss
Cobie Durant
Tutu Atwell
Ernest Jones

Rapp and Jones were terrible for them. Atwell has finally become a bit player after many years. Shipped Akers out because he was so inconsistent. Jefferson never became much of a player.
