The Asante Samuel tour of America ends early, as he had been threatening to keep it rolling in other towns later this week. Samuel had spinal-fusion surgery after heading to IR early in the 2024 season. A once-promising high second-round pick, he's still only 26 years old. If he can play anything like his old form, the Steelers did well to roster him. The fact that he's signed with the practice squad shows an NFL that is pretty skeptical he'll return to it.

Well Lynch you gonna bring in anyone else or you gonna stick with the crap you're starting every Sunday!!!! f**k!!!!

Wait ASJ is on P squad that anyone can snipe him off of? Damn those medical had to look baaad

Rumor Has It

Glynch offered a sandwich and Asante agreed, but he at least wanted a club sammich and not just peanut butter (no jelly)... Glynch wouldn't budge so Asante said F'k it and bounced to Steelers... they gave him a Lobster sammich

We don't know what either club offered but the range for a vet signed to the practice squad is $17,500-22,000, plus pro-rated minimum salary for elevation to the active roster on game day.

Other than lucking into Warner which is a once in a lifetime stumble. Not very good. Give up the 3rd and get back the compensatory 3rd. Not a good argument. You're saying they'll win the lottery more than once in a lifetime.

I player, maybe two if you count Puni out of 14 picks.

Now do the 1st and 2nd rounds. It's not much better.

I have no idea how these guys still have jobs. Any of us would be fired long ago if we failed so badly at our jobs.

I think it's a case of not having to release someone right away while ASJ learns the system in the fly.

For a 3rd round pick and if he signs elsewhere Eagles get the 3rd back. And, at $1.5 mil. 9ers 3rd rounder will be better than Eagles.

Not worth a 3rd if he was only going to be a one season rental. Even if they do get a 3rd round comp pick (which isn't guaranteed), it'd be at the end of the 3rd round in 2027.

You might want to go check who this front office has drafted with their 3rd round picks.

I'm still not seeing the benefit of giving away a 3rd rounder for a player that will be here for only 7-8 games in a season we're realistically not competing for a SB.
You're correct there is none, and does anyone really believe he'd have the same impact in SF surrounded by a skeleton crew as he will in Philly with their talent on D?

The benefit is not taking a Jake Moody or Cameron Latu in the 3rd round
These guys spent a 3rd on Nick Martin and he can't get on the field over the worst LB in the league Dee Winters.

5 TDs allowed (most in the NFL)
51 catches allowed (most in the NFL)
118.2 QB rating when targeted
50.6 coverage grade

lol he can't even beat out Winters back up. He's literally last on the depth chart

Man, had such high hopes for this dude, especially after the pre-season game against the Dallas. Just another "what might have been" player that flamed out on us.

Still not as bad as Marcus Lattimore.

Winters is so overrated.

I'm not saying fire the guy but this is a production type of business and it is a business.

This isn't youth ball when you tell Jr. "Good job buddy, way to try" or expect a pat on the back when you actually DO YOUR JOB

It feels like ownership is too busy empire building to care at the moment, as long as they're competitive they appear safe. I kinda miss the Jed boy cries of hanging championship banners when he fired harbaugh

I feel like the inevitable conclusion to Lynch is Kyle finally getting fed up with the draft strategy and asking for full control. Probably next time he is up for a new contract maybe sooner. The best friendships in the world can't survive this level of failure. I personally like both but absolutely think Kyle is more valuable to the franchise.

Their job is to win games and keep the team competitive and they've done that.
