Yes players get older. That's life. This is the outline John and Kyle laid out in March and they're sticking to it. The next core. Other teams like the Rams have done this in around 2 years, and that's what the 49ers are hoping for. As long as they draft well it can be done, and the last 2 drafts are considered good drafts.

They have built on a worst foundation when they first started and was a pretty quick turn around. But sure doom and gloom

What a fanbase we have. Can you at least tell us the moves you would have made? At least that one poster said he'd mortgage everything for QW, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Jermaine Johnson. Wouldn't have any draft picks or cap space for the next 2 years but we'd be in contention this year

Again, who cares about draft picks? Shanahan hasn't shown he will draft anyone capable of making a difference. Might as well trade for someone who is.

6-3, 5-0 in the NFC, easiest schedule in the league. Offensive guys coming back soon from injury. Super Bowl at home this year and we do nothing and some of you guys defend this resume. Un-real

Didn't they scuttle nearly 70% of the roster their first year? Then made the SB a couple after....

Uhm, pretty much everyone except you cares about draft picks. How can we possibly get younger and cheaper if we trade away our draft picks for high impact veterans. Successful SB teams build through the draft, and when they are a really good team, that is the time to trade for a high impact player to put them over the top.

We have people that want a lot of draft picks and then complain that the 49ers can't draft well. If that's true then what difference does it make how many we have.

This is one the worst and most horrifically inaccurate takes, just recklessly thrown around. The team wouldn't be winning if we hadn't drafted anyone who made a difference.

The entire starting offense and defense outside of center were either drafted or traded for.

The irony here is kind of crazy. Those stars you're dooming over were only here because of Shanahan and Lynch. Did people forget they inherited a dumpster fire in 2017? The only reason you've been able to be excited about 49ers' football the last 6 years is because of Shanahan and Lynch.

Bingo. The drama and crying is insane. Just absurd.

QB PURDY - R7 PICK
RB CMC - TRADED FOR
TE KITTLE - R5 PICK
WR PEARSALL - R1 PICK
WR JENNINGS - R7 PICK
LT TRENT - TRADED FOR
LG BURFORD - R4 PICK
RG PUNI - R3 PICK
RT MCKIVITZ - R5 PICK

DE BOSA, WILLIAMS - R1 PICKS
DE HUFF, WHITE - TRADED FOR
DT DAVIS, COLLINS, WEST - ALL DRAFTED
LB WINTERS, BETHUNE - LATE PICKS
CB GREEN, LENOIR, STOUT - R2/R5/R3 PICKS
S MUSTAPHA, BROWN - R4/R3 PICKS

But "we don't draft anyone worthwhile" so we should just give all our picks away

Yeah, obviously some guys can be upgraded over. But that's not instant, no matter how much anyone wants it to be.

Daaamn that's a lot of talent there... some future HOF players and let's not forget Warner

Two Bills (Walsh / Belli) could've won SBs with those guys. Shanny's time could be around the corner

Thank you. Just an absolutely emotionally driven opinion, that the Niners have not drafted well. You don't get to two SBs in 5 years w/o drafting well. Even in this expected rebuilding season, a healthy Niners team would've easily been top 3-5 in the league. And that's after cutting a lot of solid veterans now starting for other teams.

Last two drafts have produced many starters in Pearsall, Green, Mustapha, Puni, Bethune, Collins, Mykel, Stout, as well as utilizing valuable starts from guys like Guerendo, Sigle and Colby.

They had a couple of really bad drafts but seem to be trending in the right direction, especially if they finally end up solidifying the OL.

I dare you to find a list this extensive of massive BUSTS / OVER-DRAFTED players and epic brutal personnel decisions. I won't even get into the extensions they handed out.

Trading a perennial All Pro in Buckner was bad enough but then we probably have two of the worst draft BUSTS EVER in Solomon Thomas and Trey Lance.

So ya, these guys have been fortunate we were terrible in 2018 and lucked into Nick Bosa and found Warner, Kittle and Purdy where we did.

But that still doesn't excuse the fact that they have blown so many TOP PREMIUM PICKS and cannot draft in the first 3 rounds to save their lives.

If we hit on two or three of those bust picks and kept a few of these players we probably win 1 if not 2 Super Bowls.

Traded Deforest Bucker
Let Mike McGlinchey leave
Let Talanoa Hufunga leave
Cut DJ Reed
Cut Leonard Floyd
Cut Maliek Collins
Solomon Thomas 1.3
Reuben Foster 1.31
CJ Beathard 3.104
Joe Williams 4.121
Dante Pettis 2.44
Jalen Hurd 3.67
Mitch Wishnowski 4.110
Javon Kinlaw 1.14
Trey Lance 1.3
Trey Sermon 3.88
Ambry Thomas 3.102
Drake Jackson 2.61
Tyrion Davis Price 3.93
Danny Gray 3.105
Jake Moody 3.99
Cameron Latu 3.101
Isaac Guerrendo 4.125
Jacob Cowing 4.135
Mykel Williams 1.11??
Nick Martin 3.75

39 players picked in rounds 1-4 since Shanahan has been in control. 18 have been colossal busts never mind even average players and the jury is out on two: Williams and Martin (over-drafted)

46% of his picks were complete busts. So ya, I'd say he hasn't drafted well.

maybe not in your fantasy football/madden world. In the real world, for those that actually watch football, the last two drafts have produced a lot of starters.
