They better hit on these picks this year or it's time to start having a serious conversation about replacing him, inspite of being Kyle's guy.
But, then again Stout is starting over Lucas to justify picks. So...
Just can't keep squandering numerous picks.

I'm sure Lynch talked to many teams prior to the trading dealine but they were either asking too much or there were issues. Physical and maybe financially.
Spot on, all these wannabe GM's think Lynch just sat there and did nothing. I'm sure he was on phone with multiple teams, negotiating. In the end he and his staff determined no player was worth what the other team was asking for. We are 6-3, very winnable games coming up. Ride with what we got and see what happens.

Only about half of all first round picks end up being good players. Many are complete busts. The league average for all draft picks is below 50%. That's just one reason there are so many undrafted players in the NFL. Most teams feel it was a good draft if they end up with 3 or more players that can contribute at some point.

Fair. They- Lynch, Shannahan- need to be better.
11 first round picks, including 2022 and 2023, and the other four- Bosa, Aiyuk, Pearsall, Williams are all hurt. Bosa is hit, Aiyuk is overpaid, Pearsall might be someone, Williams might be a late bloomer.
If you buy 11 homes and hit on only 1 bad ass one but it needs constant repairs (Bosa) then what's going on with you.

For those railing on Lynch, know that he doesn't make draft decisions alone, never has. Its always been a collective effort with him, Kyle, and the scouting department. He had help from Martin Mayhew, Ran Carthon, Adam Peters, and now Tariq Ahmad plays a big role.
Lynch has many talents, probably his best in the executive role is his media/player relations. He was never hired to be the sole decision maker on player personnel.

To your point, if so, then do you see the importance to move picks for established players. Not stars but decent, dependable guys that can help with reasonable contracts.

Cincy wanted a 1st for Hendrickson. No way in hell any of you would want to give that up for a 8 game rental. Well maybe some of you judging by the comments. Even Jerry Jones said f that.
Jets wanted a 2nd for Johnson. I think that's too much and apparently the other 30 teams who didn't trade for him think so too.
Bradley Chubb is worth a ham sandwich at this point. I personally don't think he's better than anyone we have right now. Maybe worth a 7th rounder
There are reports that Cincy didn't want a 1st for Hendrickson. But regardless, I would have done our 1st if he came extended.
I would have done a 3 and Ja'iyr Brown for Minkah all day long
QW is a premier DT. We won't draft a guy like him. A 2 this year and a 2027 1st plus Jennings would have beat the Cowboys offer.
So ya, we don't have a 1 and 2 this year and a 1 in 2027 but who cares? We have a cake walk schedule and with those 3 additions we could basically walk into the playoffs and have a chance to win the SB at home. Instead, we punted this year and will let Shanahan blow those picks on players who will never be as good as the guys we could have traded for and we will still be searching for a DE, DT and S this offseason.
Do you think the Rams regret trading all those picks so they could win a SB?
DE- Trey Hendrickson / Keion White
DT- Quinnen Williams / Kalia Davis
DT- Alfred Collins / Jordan Elliot
DE- Bryce Huff / Sam O
LB- Tatum Bethune
LB- Dee Winters
CB- D. Lenoir
FS- Minkah Fitzpatrick
SS- Malik Mustapha
CB- Reynardo Green
NB- Upton Stout
Hendrickson - i havent seen any reports and even if true its impossible get an extension done in 1 days time. It took months for Cincy to extend him. Baltimore, Philly, and Chicago all wanted to trade for a edge and they all passed bc the price was too steep. Its time to get over it.
QW - Not sure if your offer beats Dallas if your looking at it through the eyes of the Jets. why would they want Jennings who costs $$ and is on a expiring contract? Thats like a 7 game rental. Mazi Smith is under contract next year. I'd probably trade for QW as well but i understand why the 49ers would not want to add another large contract when they just invested in the interior dline.
How do you know Mia would have taken that for Minkah?
Also how in the hell would Hendrickson, QW and Minkah fit into our salary cap?

Maybe but I still preach we should've traded for QW! The Cowboys did it and they're 3-5-1 why not us??
Because Jerry is an idiot, that's why! A 1st, 2nd and player is too much. I get that QW is good, but keep in mind that he's also making $20+mil per year, could we afford that? No. After this week's Raiders game they got Eagles, KC and Lions. Soon to be 4-8-1 so QW trade won't mean much when they watching playoffs from home. Plus we also needed an edge a lot more than interior. In the end I still think we can complete, if you look at NFC there is no team that stands out as the best, it's still wide open race and we'll be right in the middle of it.
Ya they might be done this year but they have QW for next year too and he fills a massive need for them with a proven player.
We'd have a 50% chance that a 1st round pick isn't a bust never mind a Pro Bowl level player under contract. The chance that a 2nd round pick is a Pro Bowl player is about 1%. Mazi Smith is a bust who's worth nothing,
Do you think the Colts regret trading a 1st for Deforest Buckner?
Do you think the Rams regret trading multiple 1sts for Stafford, Ramsey and Von Miller all who were instrumental in them winning the SB in 2021?
So we could have traded for QW, solved our DT need that we have had since we traded Buckner but instead we will most likely draft a DT with our 1st round pick and hope he isn't a bust. I would take the sure thing instead of hoping for something.

I know it's ridiculously hard for Kyle haters to process this, but a one game sample size is a really dumb way to evaluate front offices and coaching staffs. Just saying.
I guess the Chiefs are big losers, they have the two most decisive losses on your list!

I see your point but I think we have more pressing needs on our offensive line that we need to save picks for in 26 draft

we actually compare favorably. PHI has drafted better in the first round but they also have their share of busts like Jalon Raegor and Andre Dillard.
KC hasn't done that good at all but they got Patrick Mahomes and that team is trash without him.
