NEEDS to get rid of players that dont' want to be here..
Plus, the line up of Softy Rick, Wonder Waddle and Air Watson will be better than YUCK - Jennings and Robinson ..
don't you all think??

Why would the Chiefs spend a 2nd round pick on a receiver that blew out his knee last year and hasn't played a game since?
Come on. Enlighten us.

Yeah we would have to eat a large part of the contract for anyone to take Aiyuk off our hands. No one sees him as a big prize.

Several dynamics. I think people forget the Jed York factor. Jed isn't wanting to spend big money on the team right now on multiple high end contracts. The direction is younger and cheaper. Thus Lynch has to operate within a budget and IF the 49ers make a move, it will be for someone with at least 2 years left on their contract, are affordable and who will not only plug a hole this year, but can contribute again next year. So no Hendrickson as he is way too much money to keep beyond this rental year. I think the Niners will play with what they have, make perhaps one or two acquisitions IF they fit per above and then look forward to each game and see where they are at by the end of the season and their year. So far they are better than last year despite all the injuries and that is a win. Credit to Lynch and Shanahan for doing what they are doing with the constraints they face and are under.

The 49ers spend as much or more than almost any team. They have the most money tied up in dead cap (over $100 million) and the most on injured reserve. It's not about nit spending money. They just don't want to end up over paying for a player that will be a one year rental. If they acquire anyone that will be here longer they need to make sure they fit into the salary structure. They currently have about $20 million in cap space.
