Mac Jones is worth more to us than any edge rusher. We're not going to win a lot of games with Trey Hendrickson if Adrian Martinez is under center.

I agree. A good backup is definitely more valiable than an edge rusher. The way players get injured now there's no guarantee that Brock will stay healthy the rest of the year. They can stay competitive with backup edge players. Without a good backup QB they woukd be done for sure if Brock gets hurt.

I know there's a 50% chance you're joking, but if the Bengals trade Hendrickson they're throwing the white flag in on this season. Going from Browning to Mac Jones isn't really going to help them any.

If they trade Hendrickson, it'll be for draft capital, and MAYBE a young player that can help them well beyond this year. But the only young player I could see us trading is Brown. But then again would you feel comfortable trading important depth?

That's funny, because I was half joking. I truly think we could trade for him for a second rounder next year and a fourth rounder either next year or the following year.

Yeah that's exactly the kind of deal I'm thinking. These nonsense proposals involving 1st round picks and any players other than Brown are just that: nonsense.

But are you doing so knowing he could walk at the end of the year? If so that's still too rich for me for a 14 game rental.

I don't know how many times this needs to be repeated:

In 2021, the Rams traded a 2nd and a 3rd for an 8 game rental (plus playoffs) in Von Miller.

They then won the Super Bowl and everyone worshipped the move, despite Miller walking for nothing afterwards.

A 2nd and 4th for Hendrickson is really not that crazy. Maybe we could try tagging and trading him after the season, who knows.

I wonder if the Rams would have still made that move if Aaron Donald, Stafford, and Kupp were all injured or on IR, because that's basically the situation we're in right now.

Yeah, that sort of the point now, though. We are 3-0 right now with all of those fantastic players injured. To me, that tells me how strong of a team we are. Adding Hendrickson and getting Kittle, Aiyuk, and the rest of our injured players back puts us in the upper echelon in my opinion. Hendrickson puts us over the top.

I think the team has to kick the tires on the available edge rushers. The team is 3-0 but key injuries to their star talent leave their long term outlook for the season murky. How realistic would it be to expect Aiyuk to return to his former self? So yeah, I'd kick the tires on someone like Thibadeux, but giving up premier draft capital for 30 year old edge rusher, assuming you can't sign him, on a rental seems risky. Maybe in a few weeks if the team is 6-0 or 5-1….but not 3-0.

I'm not usually this pessimistic but would you say we played anyone really impressive to really feel great about the 3-0?

100% it's great being 3-0 and I hope we can keep it going cuz end of the day a win is a win. However our defense hasn't faced anyone dangerous whether elite QB or elite talent surrounding a solid QB. We just lost Nick...can we hang with the better offenses out there? We'll see.

Our offense is the unknown. We've been missing a lot of players there so hard to say where the offense can be once all those guys are hopefully back and healthy. We can assume the offense as a whole would certainly look much better than it has but still an unknown to an extent.

I'm excited to see how we play vs the Jags. I think they're the most well rounded team talent wise that we've played so far with the Rams being the real test - QB, skill positions, defense and coaching. They'll tell us where we are.

I mean… Seahawks and Cardinals haven't lost to anyone else. So there's that.

Which makes me wonder who we root for this week or do we hope for a tie?

I feel the Seahawks are more dangerous now that the Cards lost their RB, so I think I prefer for them to lose this one.

Agree with all of this. I'm super happy that we are 3-0, but all very close games and we could easily have gone 0-3 if we are being honest. I like the way this team battles though.....they have grit.

If we can get a win on the Rams then that will be impressive and make me re-think realistically what we might be capable of this year.

I'm just going to enjoy watching the young guys develop for now.....the team is trending in the right direction. I think if we are one player away from a serious push to get to the SB then go all in on a trade before the deadline, but I don't think the team is there currently so don't want to give up significant draft capital just yet.

Well, it's easy for me....I dislike the Seahags so much more then the Cards or the Rams, so I'll be rooting for a Hawks loss.

Yeah it's a no brainer. Unfortunately Seattle is going to win.

You bet. You don't think that winning at Seattle and beating AZ were impressive? I certainly do.
From now on you holdout through training camp. No new deal. You're now gonna have to play out your final season at your own risk to injury. So it would be a hard deadline. If we're gonna rework a deal over a holdout it must be finalized by start of training camp or else you're risking not being prepared for the season which increases the likelihood you will be injured. So good money investment is not give a truckload of money to a guy that hasn't prepped for the season

If you get hurt after doing your offseason work with the team no harm no foul but if you hold out then get the bag then get hurt that's another thing
