Surely just doing someone a nice favor and covering their bill doesn't count against the cap.

A bit off topic, but I can't stress enough how much I hate that BS. The crap they do to rookies with the rookie dinners is absurd, especially since rookies don't get paid nearly as much as the vets.

Sure, a lot of the times you hear a nice little story like John Lynch or Eli Manning picking up the tab for the rookie who only has a 2-minute scare, but sometimes that doesn't happen, the rookie just gets straight-screwed.

I don't have a problem with it, I hope it continues.

No, it's completely screwed up.

Imagine a 7th-round pick being the only rookie in his position group of 8 guys. He brings $5k in cash and only received a $50k signing bonus before taxes. The other guys order dinners for their entire families and multiple bottles of wine on the way out.

The 7th-round pick is then left with a $28k bill.

The 7th-round pick is then horrified, suddenly has to run up multiple credit cards… and oh by the way he didn't even actually play in the NFL.

It's completely ****ed.

This all actually happened, by the way. His name was Ifo Expre-Olomu.
I'm not a big fan of all these late round trades. That's our bread and butter. It's where we get our best players. If Lynch was smart he would trade our 1st and 2nd round picks. That's what we should do. Because we never hit on those anyway. For the most part anyway. I'd rather have mid and late round picks for this team. It seems to be the only picks they hit on. Which is sad. Wish that wasn't the case. But it is.

I don't care what they do, I just want them to win a super bowl.

Or at least I'll go into this season comfortable about our most important position. Robinson is legit. Plays much bigger than he looks (6'1 228), if you can believe that. Can catch the ball out of the backfield. Perfect weapon to play behind, or along side McCaffrey. We can still use those Deebo and CMC lined up in the backfield packages.

YES SIRRRRRR!!!!

The 49ers are expressly against toxic rookie hazing like this

They created the rookie training camp crowd warm up as their approved rookie hazing

Lots of people do stupid s**t bc it was done to them and they are passing it on...break that BS cycle
couldn't of finagled Scary Terry in the trade? still like the trade!

I know what will we do without all those Jarrett Kingston, Brayden Willis, Tariq Castro-Fields, Kaden Smith etc players

Ah boo hoo we haven't won a SB yet in this regime with any strategy. Yes we hit on some late rounders but I like that we're switching it up. Maybe this philosophy will get us over the hump

McLaurin wants $30M a year or more, the 49ers aren't giving another WR $30M a yr, they saw how that hindered them last year by giving into Aiyuk's demands, plus he's close to, if not, already 30yrs old, I'd rather stay away from older WRs, and let the younger guys play, & keep guys like Gage, Hodgins, & Chosen on the PS.
I'm still not confident in Moody.

Man, Commanders subreddit doesn't seem to like him at all, which is crazy considering he's put up better numbers than Deebo (outside of 2021 obviously)

If the Commanders don't want him then we'll take him for a 6th!

Nice! Look at you guys
