I'm totally fine with him just being an elite run defender. I think he can also muddy the pocket on third down as well. But that's what Bosa is for.

Ok let's do the tale of the tape. Let's examine this issue. Compared to another team which just WON the Super Bowl. Beat the Chiefs, Reid and Mahomes. Something we never do. Nick Sirianni became Eagles Coach from 2021 on up. So we start there for our comparison.

2021

Eagles: 2 - 37 overall - Landon Dickerson - LG - 6'6" 332 lbs. Alabama - Current starter. Very good player.
49ers: 2 - 48 overall - Aaron Banks - LG - 6'5" 325 lbs. Notre Dame - Was a starter. Left in FA. Not as bad as the WZ claims. But not great either.
49ers: 5 - 155 overall - Jaylon Moore - T - 6'4" 311 lbs. Western Michigan. A swing Tackle. Left in FA to the Chiefs. A decent to pretty good player.

2022

Eagles: 2 - 51 overall - Cam Jurgens - C - 6'3" 303 lbs. Nebraska - Current starter and very good player.
49ers: 4 - 134 overall - Spencer Burford - OL - 6'4" 300 lbs. Texas San Antonio -
49ers: 6 - 187 overall - Nick Zakelj - OL - 6'6" 316 lbs. Fordham. A decent player and may be a future starter.

2023

Eagles: 3 - 65 overall - Tyler Steen - RG - 6'6" 321 lbs. Alabama - Current Starter and very good player.
49ers: Zero offensive linemen selected.

2024

Eagles: 5 - 172 overall - Trevor Keegan - OG - 6'5" 306 lbs. Michigan - Backup to Landon Dickerson. 2nd string.
Eagles: 6 - 190 overall - Dylan McMahon - C - 6'3" 298 lbs. NC State - Practice squad for a while. Now with the Rams.
49ers: 3 - 86 overall - Dominic Puni - RG - 6'5" 313 lbs. Kansas. Looks to be a huge star. Pro Bowl level guy. Much better than where drafted.
49ers: 6 - 215 overall - Jarret Kingston - OG - 6'4" 305 lbs. USC - Listed as Carolina Panthers. Already gone.

2025

Eagles: 5 - 168 overall - Drew Kendall - C - 6'4" 299 lbs. Boston College - 2nd string to Cam Jurgens on depth chart at C.
Eagles: 6 - 191 overall - Myles Hinton - OT - 6'6" 342 lbs. Michigan - 2nd string to Lane Johnson on depth chart at RT.
Eagles: 6 - 207 overall - Cameron Williams - 6'5" 335 lbs. Texas - Backup OT.
49ers: 7 - 249 overall - Connor Colby - OG - 6'6" 310 lbs. Versatile backup who can play multiple positions.

** Eagles Prior regime picks.

Eagles: 2018 - 7 - 233 overall - Jordan Mailata - LT - 6'8" 366 lbs. Australian rules football. Obviously a star player. Picked by prior regime. Before Sirianni was there.

Eagles: 2013 - 1 - 4 overall - Lane Johnson - RT - 6'6" 325 lbs. Oklahoma. Big time star player. Picked by prior regime. Before Sirianni was there.

A basic look says the Eagles pick earlier more often and do better than we do on offensive line. They added their entire starting interior. LG, C, RG and all are very excellent players. The two Tackles are great but were picked by the prior regimes. But even then as an organization the Eagles valued offensive line a lot as they picked Lane Johnson high. They were willing to go all the way to Australian Rules Football to find a huge prospect in Mailata. Whether this regime or prior they clearly value it more than we do. Even this regime the starting interior 3 are their picks. They are all great. You can't say the same for us.

I don't know about that it would be the first article by Cohn that posted some form of relevant information. Lol
Note : Jordan Mailata did not play Australian Rules football. He played in the Australian Rugby League which is similar but not the same as Rugby. The same competition that Jarryd Hayne played in.
All the Aussie punters in the NFL, however, come from Australian Rules football which is primarily a kicking based game.

And the point of this was? Not like the 49ers picked a kicker over OL in this one. All the best Eagles players were drafted ahead of our choices.

We already know how bad the Lance trade hurt us, that includes having picks later in the draft and watching a lot of those guys come off the board ahead of us.

i think we can all agree they still have a lot of questions on the OL and it can get really scary real quick and has to be a priority next year similar to how the defense was this draft. I believe next years OT class looks a lot stronger so I imagine we'll hit it hard then.

For what it's worth, we say that every year.. or it a least feels that way. We need a center, a left guard sooner rather than later. And we need to plan for Trent's departure. We are playing with fire by thinking otherwise.

That's correct.

I think you are on to something. "All the best Eagles players were drafted ahead of our choices." So they draft it earlier and higher and find much better results. Yes that's the point. We should draft it earlier and higher and get better results.

As for Trey Lance and trading 3 first round picks. This regime did that. Shany/Lynch did that and are accountable.

Why are you only arguing that about the O line. It's absolutely true about the secondary if not moreso.

As far as like Cooper DeJean - 2 - 40 overall - 2024. Sure you can make the argument that some earlier ones would be better. Like the Super Bowl Champion Eagles. This GM does a lot of things I don't like and think are wrong. But our offensive line is one big gaping hole outside of TW (getting older) and Puni who is awesome. So we just have to address it. Although they don't typically prioritize it high.

Our secondary actually has good CB's now. They cover well. Lenoir signed a huge deal. Renardo Green - 2 - 64 - 2024 was a high pick and he's really good. Mustapaha is very good when healthy. We added some S speed in the draft. I don't think our secondary is nearly as bad as our offensive line. So that's why I give focus to it.
