They then offered a better contract than the Broncos gave and flew to see him to try persuade him after he verbally committed to the Denver. At the end of the day even John and Kyle in person couldn't bring him back with more money offered, so it seems like Dre wanted a fresh start and to be the #1LB to lead a defense.

He would have stayed if this money was right.

We offered more than the Broncos did before he officially signed. This is more of a wanting to be a lead dog.

I agree, its that simple, and it's understandable. A guy like him, a war-daddy/dawg, wants to be the #1. He wouldn't be the Dre Greenlaw we know and love if he didn't want to be great. I wish him the best, and I'll always be a huge fan.
I don't have as much sympathy for the 'lead dawg' thing (if accurate). Football is a team sport, and winning comes first. Going to war alongside someone like #54 is an honour and an opportunity for greatness. Having to be the 'Lead Dawg' is not a winning mentality in my book.

Obviously it takes both sides to get these done but can't help but think we could do a better job of it.

side note : all these big extensions for Bills players when some would like to pretend Josh Allen was out there playing without any talent around him.

In an effort of fairness to Paraag and the 49ers, Paraag and Purdy's agent couldn't start contract negotiations and talk actual numbers until Purdy was eligible on January 5th after the Cardinals game.

But all the leaks about the 49ers low-balling Purdy in the easiest contract negotiation needs to be called out and laughed at.

Player contract negotiation talk really should be in a Paraag thread and not Lynch. Lynch doesn't do contracts until we're at a deadline and he or Kyle have to tell Paraag to give the player what they want.

Nice. Maybe we can bring in Mason Graham and Abdul Carter as UDFAs too?

I would think his dad is a good source to listen to. There was talk Dre wanted to go somewhere where he was the top guy, that wouldn't be here with Fred. His dad's comments pretty much confirm that.

As well as the tea leaves with the player wives/gfs throwing them a going away party LONG before FA started.

Agree it's Paraag that is responsible. He's done good work in the past like Kaepernicks deal which was a series of 1yr deals if I remember correctly, luckily he bailed us out of that mess.

But lately the agents leverage time on their sides and drag these talks out as long as possible, which affects our off season and the player being ready. Hopefully Brock has some control of his agent to press him to get things done sooner.

brock will get done sooner cuz the player wants to get done sooner. i don't think brock is pushing for top QB dollar. bosa and BA both pushed hard and wanted to miss camp. i think brock sincerely wants to do the offseason stuff and the team probably wants this done as well so they know how to plan future cap

Including shiloh sanders does not make you look good. If you watched any of his games you would know he is terrible and only is getting looked at because of his name.

If Brock isn't done by the draft I will make my way to the fire Lynch train station. If Brock isn't done by training camp. I will be driving that damn train!

This s**t is starting to get ridiculous
