I honestly think there is talk of this in the front office. And hell, if there isn't at least the gaming out of moving on from Purdy, the FO isn't doing their job.
And they love Purdy.

How are we rebuilding?

The over-reactions are strong after 2 days of free agency.

Trading Deebo, letting a bunch of solid players walk, releasing Juice, not making any huge free agent moves yet, we were last in the division last year and our best two offensive weapons are coming off big injuries, one of them with a chronic achilis condition.

It's one year. If we are going by that metric then Purdy sure as hell didn't make an impact last year and shouldn't be paid like a top guy. The players we just let walk or simply cut had a track record of being solid players. We literally let them walk to save a few bucks in Jed's pocket.

If that's how you view it then I get the frustration, but we didn't just do it to "save a few bucks".

He used to be excellent. Now he's a complete homer who takes himself far too seriously and fights with fans who disagree with him. Content aside, he behaves like a pro-49ers version of Cohn.

Wrong

CB- Charvarius Ward - Reynardo Green
OG- Aaron Banks - Ben Bartch
FB- Kyle Juszcyk - Luke Farrell
WR- Deebo Samuel - Demarcus Robinson
DE- Leonard Floyd - High draft pick
DT- Maliek Collins - Evan Anderson

S- Talanoa Hufunga - didn't play in 2025- Malik Mustapha

DT- Javon Hargrave - didn't play in 2025 - Kevin Givens

LB- Dre Greenlaw - didn't play in 2025 - High draft pick

RB- Elijah Mitchell - Didn't play in 2025 - Issac Guerendo

OT- Jaylon Moore - Backup in 2025
QB- Josh Dobbs - Backup in 2025

We don't lose much at all and saved about 300 million dollars of contracts. In fact, I think most of the replacements will have bigger impacts than the guys who left.

We have work to do on the Dline but there are 30-35 starting calibre defensive linemen in this draft. It's the deepest draft ever for linemen. And rookies can't be any worse than Floyd and Collins who were among the worst at their positions vs the run in the league

Drake Jackson Redemption Arc incoming.

When's the last time you saw him criticize this regime for anything? I'll leave it at that.
maybe cause the criticism isn't needed?

not everything has to suck, be a knee jerk reaction or entirely fabricated takes. Just take a step back and use some rational thought.

i was on board that making JB a priority would not be a great idea, right when JB was released. Waiting until after the draft would be the best option if he was still available.

We're cutting guys who can't help anymore or guys not worth to what they are being offered. We can't jump back into that with JB

We still got the True Pillars of our team in Brendel and Moody here so we're always going to compete.
