Pretty much. Julio getting 1,800 yards in Shanny's o is a pretty good selling point. The qb will come.

Pretty much all offensive players would love to play in Shanny Jr's offense.

Jump to wild baseless conclusions much?

I think, objectively, it has to be production per dollar. That's the only way you can normalize the two players and gauge whether the decision was beneficial or not (smith and his replacement). All comparisons must be normalized and it only seems logical to normalize based on player cost.

2017 Salary: 6.5mil
2016 stats (obviously a projection but I can't see the future so what ever):
REC: 20 --> 325K per catch
TGTS: 49 --> 132K per target
YDS: 267 --> 24K per yard

------------------
^ That's the benchmark for his replacement, we'll see if Lynch can find somebody that will charge less than 325K per catch or less than 24000 per yard. (Yes I added the zeros for effect)

2016 mighr be an anomaly statistically and the money is neaningless to me. Trying to get the most production pwr dollar is not the best way to win imo.

You missed badly on my point and didn't care to back up yours with any research.

Anyways 2016 is the bottom of the 4 year trend in pretty much every category. It just happened to correlate with a rising 4 year salary trend...

The dollars per yard point? It seems silly to me.
My point is only that I don't see this improving the team unless they end up with better WR options in 2017.

What reason is that? Total BS reason?

What GM or former player who was drafted doesn't believe in the draft?

F/A nor the draft haven't started. Using your logic this team has already failed because we don't even have a QB on the roster.

Give it time...F/A will answer a lot of questions and in a month the draft will be here.

Agreeing to terms w/ Hoyer, Schaub, et al. today won't get it done.

I agree.

If I were Lynch my pitch to these guys would be: I will get you a QB to throw you the ball, my job also depends on it.

Good one.

Agree! He could also show WRs offensive video from Shanahan's offenses and ask if they would like to be part of an offense like this.

I think that sounds nice. But if we're not the first stop on their FA visit then it won't matter.

I never said I think the team has failed, I am just not going to get excited about the idea of addition through subtraction.

Shanahan's reputation will bring them to SF, Lynch's personality will sell them, Jed's wallet will pay them.

2-14 record is typically because the team you have isn't very good....so addition by subtraction works in this example.

We'll sign and draft new players, 80% of the roster last year won't be here in 2 years and we'll hopefully have a winning organization again.
Booooooorrrrriiinnnngggg
