This....SF with a startable QB has gone to a SB and NFCC...people in here think our roster blows and want to toss out Trent Baalke for some weird deflection. This team doesn't stink regardless of how bad someone thinks they "know" how the team should be built

Agree with both. We really are well set for a SB run the next 3-5 yrs. Our problems were CB,/ S/ IOL/ maybe R OT/ Edge starter. We basically filled those holes, admittedly at end of draft or UDFA, but we certainly have some good looking newcomers to show what they have.

Our problem is going to be the first 8-10 games maybe, or with luck, first 4-5 games. C/QB and both OGs, CB, S, all are unknown at present altho good news is Brendel worked with Trey on 2nd team last yr. If we survive first half of season as players are getting used to their positions, then going into 2nd half after all the newness is gone, i see a team that will be very tough to beat. We just gotta get out of the blocks first.

The Baalke reference is hilarious because that comment was made while he was clearly sinking and sabotaging the franchise, Yet he was still lapping everything up Baalke said, Lynch has shown nothing to date that would make one think he is sinking this franchise or in over his head

This so much, trust the process when we have a GM backstabbing everyone & anyone he can, Baalke was in over his head, Lynch isn't IMO.

Lynch is far from perfect but as long as this team is competitive, no way am I comparing him to Baalke. You want to talk moneyball? Baalke was the king of moneyball. And it is no coincidence that everyone jumped ship after Harbaugh left. Shanahan and Lynch make a pretty damn good team imo and have shown that they can learn from past mistakes. I can't see why they won't get even better.

Agreed YAC. This team will only get better, people act like we have a bottom 10 roster, I don't care what PFF says, this roster is top 10 at worst.

Bro I called that instead of doing something smart they would sign a DT. God damn

I don't ever want to hear s**t in the OL thread again. LMAO.

Their own words (and actions)

"So we're in this situation, we knew Mack had a chance to leave, but you don't want to take that risk. Just stockpiling other players when you can do that at other positions." ~ Kyle Shanahan

"I like to joke that we like to stockpile D-linemen here, and we'll just worry about the offensive pieces and everything else later. Like, 'Are you sure we need our 18th D-lineman?' But if they're that good, yes, you do. Nothing else matters." ~ John Lynch

LOL they signed a trash DT for vet min that more than likely doesn't make the PS. They do that at OG and you're just as annoyed.

Their whole D is based around the DL, their offense isn't based around their OGs....you'd think people would get that by now

Nobody but you again is talking G. SMH.

The topic is stacking talent. And then stacking it some more. Pay more attention to their own words AND actions.

Or just continue to be completely confused on the topic per usual in here.

Just be glad they have a vision for what they want this team to look like and are sticking to it, even if it's NOT what YOU want them to do.

Trent Baalke said to trust the process too.

Hell no. The point is their team building process and philosophy shouldn't just accepted blindly.

Even their DL, who they stack 8 layers deep with 1st-3rd rounders and FA's, have failed miserably in the 4Q in 2019 and 2021.

They have proven to have a great deep and competitive roster. Nothing more. Not yet.

So don't blindly just act like it's been completely successful through 6 off seasons.

8 layers deep? They have exactly 2 more guys that fall into that 1-3 category than the OL. Not counting AA because hr was already here and if we include him because they extended him we can then start throwing in other FAs that fell into this category for OL
