Settle down there NC Jr.

Haha. NY has seen the light through the rose colored glasses.

When did you see the light? I know it wasn't when Baalke was flushing this team down the toilet for countless years. So was it when Lynch and co completely tore down the dumpster fire roster? Or was it when they rebuilt it into a title contender? Or was it when he won EOTY? Just trying to pinpoint it so I can see where I missed it 😀

Lynch.

I learned from Baalke you can't do it solo (note that he's hiring Ethan away from us and is magically more aggressive and ditched the moneyball mantra)...Baalke couldn't do it alone, Scot McCloughan couldn't do it alone. And Lynch couldn't do it alone so he hired a large FO to support him. Smart!

And I said upon John Lynch's hire, to pay extra close attention to the off season trends. If it ends up being the same kind of moneyball approach, then you know it's Paraag who runs this b***h.

And Paraag runs this b***h.

I'm willing to bet if Lynch moved on to another team, he'd follow in the same path as Baalke (now).

So it's on Lynch or Paraag? Not totally following . You also mention Baalke and Scott doing it alone, but why would that be applicable here when you go on to say he hires really good FO guys to support him?
and are you really saying Baalke was being held back here and what he's doing now is good GM'ing?

Paraag's system. There was a reason Chris Ballard didn't entertain here. Lynch was green. Baalke also came from the moneyball background so he fit in well at that time. The next GM will fall in line too.

Lynch is doing the very best he can within Paraag organization.

Wouldn't Jimmy be gone already if this was the Paraag Organization?

a lot of free money there that can be made with Jimmy off the books. Opinions just don't add up

Funny.

Sir you are in the John Lynch thread. The man is a walking title of world champion, Hall of Famer, owns a SB ring, a Stanford education, and turns down $15 million dollar jobs from tech firms cuz he wants another SB ring for his other hand. He's an honorary member of the Bucs ring of pirates. He gets standing ovations when he walks through the airport of at least 3 major American cities.

We're all aware of your résumé, John.

You still suck as GM.

Paraag's system IS why we can get rid of him now (annual rip cords built into the contract and low GTD $).

The problem was the current FO overvalued his worth, his market and the surgery threw everything for a loop. None of that has anything to do with Paraag.

No, like Lynch heard, Paraag ran the ship in SF and he wanted none of that business. Good move.

Dude I love you, but Ballard is also very conservative, he had the most cap room, and didn't spend till the Gilmore signing, yet people on here act as if he's this great or greatest GM, yet he has no rings, traded away 1st & 2nd for Wentz, yeah he got the Commanders, but, he hasn't done much outside of the Leonard, Nelson & other good picks in past year.

Ballard would fit like a glove if the goal was to hoard a s**t ton of money and spend nothing

So? What if Paraag runs it, I mean he doesn't actually run the team, but he does the contracts, bnut seriously, what is the whole fascination with Ballard, he hasn't done crap, yet no one s**ts on him, I'm sure Colts fans are like 49ers fans, he's too conservative, sucks in the draft, etc... Yet he is a good GM, same with Lynch, both have their flaws, but they're the same, conservative in FA.

Love you too.

But that's a different topic than Paraag running this ship no matter the GM here.

But yeah, I agree about Ballard thus far (and I really wanted us to at least get an interview with him). He turned us down.

He really has been ultra conservative. Agreed.

Yup, that's how my memory went.

New England Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio and then-Kansas City Chiefs director of player personnel Chris Ballard both opted not to interview with the 49ers.
