What are you talking about??

This roster is going to get flipped. Scary and exciting. There will probably be a player or two that don't deserve to be traded that end up getting traded. Let's see how Lynch/Peters work it.

I can see Trent Brown being one of those guys moved. Brown, Reid, Brooks, Bethae, Brock...
I don't know how much value Brooks/Bethea have being old and paid handsomely. They are much more likely to get cut than traded imo. The players that could surprise folks if traded are Trent Brown, Dial, Tiller, Garnett. Guys that have real value, on good contracts, but perhaps are the ones Maiocco is referring to as not fitting the scheme. When Maiocco says something like, "I know for a fact...", woah.

How about that pot head A Aron Lynch? He doesn't really sound like the classy stand up guy Lynch wants on his team.

Yeah, I don't think Bethea adds any value to any team. Brooks could add as a SAM for a 3-4 team though...maybe a 6th, 7th on a fairly cheap contract? Dial is a good call...just locked him up long term but I doubt him given he can play the 1T and give Buckner a breather at LDE/5T. Tiller is an UDFA so he can go anywhere now; it was reported earlier he was a RFA but that turned out to be untrue. Garnett is an interesting suggestion. Yeah, when MM makes a comment like that, it's even more legit. That's more of a "OK, we'll tell you what we're doing and if you can stay quiet and earn our trust, you'll be the first who can report it. You can start working on your article now...here are the details."

That would be another good suggestion. Reid for sure...watching 5 minutes of his tape would have Lynch vomiting at his "effort."

I think a guy can smoke a little weed and still be classy, but coming into camp overweight more than once shows a lack of commitment that can put him on the trading block. Lynch has mentioned wanting guys that love football, or something like that. Aaron Lynch's commitment to football has been a question mark all throughout his football playing career.

Regarding Brooks, if a team trades for him they get his contract, which I think is a turn off. So I don't think they could use a 6/7th then get him on a cheap contract since they would inherit that contract, if I have that correct. Dial is a player I mentioned because he is not the short, stubby 1t that is used in this scheme, but I agree he is solid depth at 5t. I wouldn't want to see him go, just suggesting he could be a player that doesn't fit the scheme and has value, perhaps more value to a true 3-4 team than next year's 49ers.

Brooks is only making $6M though so it's not bad for a SAM esp. one that can still get you 6 sacks a year and seal the edge effectively. I very much agree about Dial too...I mean, every player needs to be critically reviewed as "scheme fits" or not; you came up with a bunch of good ones too. It's not like we don't know what the ideal players are for each position in the WCO and 4-3 under.

Be amazing if we could get a bag of peanuts for those guys

I think Brooks has some value for a contending team. Not sure about bethea though.

Can we get the blessing to use this thread in Niner Talk for all the FA gossip that will be happening starting tomorrow?

It's going to happen in some thread anyways.

Agree with this. They'll test the market on Bethae, but ultimately should just cut him.

Brooks still has value and his salary has dropped. He can be moved for a late pick this year or next.
