You guys do realize that the longer we keep him and the longer QB needy teams go without a QB the more desperate they are right? This is beneficial to us. If we don't move him after Watson picks a team to the other losers who obviously want a Vet QB then on draft day someone will offer 2022/2023 picks for him

The downside is that we are missing out on free agents that could help us win a SB

But how many times have we actually went into FA guns blazing? That's not our style. We always sign the bargain bin FAs anyway, we draft well and extend our own people most of the time
well.. with jimmy on the team.. we can not extend bosa and deebo in my opinion and i think we are done in free agency to as there are some guards pass rushers wide outs who can return kicks who could help us. but no.. we have jimmy. drafting well,,,, that is a matter of opinion
The thought that keeping Jimmy is handicapping us in free agency is complete hogwash. We were literally several mil over the salary cap a day ago. Today, Marathe went to 2 of our team captains, asked them to restructure their contracts for the benefit of the team, to which they agreed, and now we are magically 9 mil under the cap. We have several other team leaders we can ask to do similar. All it takes is for the contract to be backloaded for 2023 and beyond and we can afford just about anyone. Jimmy is only truly delaying us from extending Deebo and Bosa which we have plenty of time for.

Bingo! The FO had all YEAR and off season to secure a deal and prepare for this scenario. Jimmy isn't holding anything back. LOL

This conservative off season IS what the FO does...every year.

Once they did a great job of building up a top 5-10 roster, they've either run in back or lost in the off season to their competition. This is what they do. Their philosophy.

York should fire LYNCH and SHANAHAN. Get ride of classy Pornstar Jimmy, whose smiling face on the bench after each interception sickens me, and take a serious step to move the team to Super Bowl victory #6. Replace Shanahan with Eric Bienemy or Anthony Lynn. Replace Lynch with STEVE YOUNG, who is so much smarter and less egotistical, and let's win.

Only the Super Bowl champion is "competitive" to these types. Everyone else from the Bengals to the Jaguars are the exact same pathetic losers who should fire all their personnel and cut all players on their rosters and rebuild immediately.

It would be entertaining in a certain way to have a league like this - every team that doesn't win the SB must fire all front office and coaching staff and can't bring back any player over into the next year because those people are "non-competitive losers". Would be a wild, entertaining madhouse.

Damn SF just lost out on Chandler Jones? That hurts. Need to see his contract details with LVR.

Lynch's 2 biggest priorities this offseason was to get Jimmy dealt prior to free agency and get Deebo extended before any of the other WR's. He failed at both. Now we have no cap to make any moves and Deebo is going to be much more expensive.

If Jimmy's surgery is what is holding up a deal, did John fail?

3 years $58 million, something like that.

What it boils down to is they cannot be competitive if they don't follow certain peoples offseason philosophy….I.e. go spend big money on big names. You'd think by now they'd lean to defer to a FO that seems to have proven it knows what it's doing. Too funny

Infallible FO. So...

...inconceivable! Haha

That's a nice chunk of change. Chandler (age 32) could trend downwards slowly or abruptly. My guess is he will still be productive 2 years from now. Frickin AFC West.

Agreed. This team is always going to be insanely competitive.

Superbowl bound? That's another topic.

Are you talking about the Rams? Technically they traded for all their players and have been silent in free agency.

Well that's another fallacy that's been disproven as evidenced by past offseason posts and then the in season end results.
