CCiowa, always good to see your positiveness
. Just keep in mind, during those 5 super bowls, 49ers made it to the playoffs 20+ times, and lost the Conference championships 5 times. (from Joe's reign to Steve's reign). So far we've only lost *one* conference championship during ShanaLynch's time. Keep that in you *optimistic* mind.
and every conference title loss took a little bit out of me.... however it is unacceptable to go to a super bowl and lose.... it is unacceptable to be happy with our franchise to just be happy that we got there. it is unacceptable we did not give the ball to gore or dixon on second and goal from the five. it is unacceptable that we stunningly lost a super bowl and a title game when we had ten point teams in both games late. i do not get a rats ass that other teams would kill to have that track record... i hate all other teams. this is our hill. these are our beans, i hate everything today. not cutting jimmy is unacceptable
Once the NFL rewrote the rule book by implementing rules *directly* countermanding Eddie Debartolo's super bowl winning strategies (ie. pay for the super bowls with lots of money) you can't win on those strategies anymore. It's not *realistic* to win every super bowl you appear in, during the era of the Eddie Debartolo Cap rules. The best you can hope for is the Patriot's version of the 49er dynasty. Patriots (during Brady's reign) 6-3 in super bowl win/loss. You are going to win some and lose some from here on in. That's better than not even appearing in them at all, nowadays.
