Lucked into Shanahan but Lynch as a GM? Wtf?? So many qualified GMs 49ers interviewed...and in the end - they decided to hire a guy who has ZERO experience working in a NFL Front Office. He has ZERO experience as a scout at any level. I understand, so many potential GM candidates rejected 49ers. But, to hire a guy who has never held a position that is in no way related to a day-2-day job profile of a GM is unbelievable. I'm sure Lynch is a smart guy...he was a smart player...but that has NOTHING to do with being a GM. Why take the risk at this time? --------------- edit: After having some time to digest this news...wish him all the best and I hope he proves ppl wrong. Still don't understand why we needed to take such a risk but it is what it is now. I do have to say - his first presser made a positive impression.

Well, I think they know that right now we have the worst QB in the division but they just don´t want to accept it.

The 49ers with no Nick Bosa and Nick Mullens and a hobbled Garoppolo at QB beat the Rams twice this season. Why wouldn't people expect a healthy 49ers team to beat them?

Trade 3 1sts 2 2nds and jimmy for Watson. Super bowl rings are worth more than draft picks and Watson could be our qb for a long time.

Lynch didn't lie either...he was very careful with his language/wording.

Love the ShanaLynch combo. 10 draft picks and (I think) we're currently under the cap by 10 million plus around 17 million with DeeFord's cap and 11 million with Richburg's cap numbers. If you add those up, it comes to around 38 million in possible cap room (courtesy of AB81's cap numbers). that's enough to sign a couple of decent Free Agents - and with 10 draft picks, there's got to be an OLine pick in there somewhere!

Stafford wanted to go to California. After all, his family has a home in Newport Beach, which is about 40 miles south of SoFi Stadium. According to Breer, the Los Angeles Rams were always his preferred destination, following by the 49ers and Indianapolis Colts. ~ Homepage article

Agreed. No doubt the FO told Garoppolo they'd put feelers out there and entertain guys like Brady and Stafford but in the end, the price will be too high to move off Garoppolo and that its cool, they're just doing their due diligence.
