Joe isn't retiring people. Not right now. There is no way Joe would screw the team by not telling them he was retiring before the draft and had he told them that I see no way they pass on Wirfs.

Lynch was just in a press conference two days ago told the writers that he talked to Joe and that he is positive that he will not retire.

We don't need Joe or Trent Williams, we need both!

Williams current cap number is $14,500,000. Unless he is willing to take HUGE cut in salary to escape Washington, he isn't coming here. We only have $13M now with rookies to sign. Ain't happenin'.

???

$11M falls off with Staley retiring. And Williams would be signing a LTD anyways (which could drop his Year 1 total)

Plus, another $3M in cap savings is coming when Goodwin is released or traded.

He talking about having Williams even if Staley didn't retire

LOL. Sorry, Staley. This FO doesn't exactly have that want-to-win-now type of mindset right now.

Thanks for everything!

What does that mean nc?

I'm only speculating but the Matt Maiocco report of Joe Staley only being 50/50 on coming back and after the team traded Buckner, did nothing in free agency, and then drafted another DL, he's probably thinking the same thing we are --- we didn't get better. He just wants to win a Championship.

IF the rumor is true, it means Staley is retiring.

LMAO. I'm sure.
The way this is going we will have one draft pick in 2021..and none in 2022.

Joe Staley is not a quiter and certainly not a dumb guy.
I don ´t think his decision is based on how he feels about the front office ´s moves in the offseason.
He said multiple times that he would have retired if not for Kyle and that he was so happy to play on his team.
When he ultimately retires, it will simply be because he´s tired of playing football.

If you have 1 year left in your career and your ultimate goal is to win the Superbowl, you're damn right he's paying attention to the off season moves.

They have all their picks in both drafts still

If he ´s thinking like that, then he will play this season no questions.
I think the draft showed that they want to win the superbowl next season.
If it wasn´t the case they would have Belichicked the draft.

Not if they keep trading them all away

Because taking an OT to back him up would've shown they are committed to 2020?

Joes money for 2020 is now guaranteed so I'd very disappointed in him if he walked away now.
