Ya cutting Staley makes no sense. If he retires, then a trade makes sense. If no retirement, I'm concerned the $$ would be too much.

Staley wouldn't play games with the 49ers. Either he's retiring and Williams is coming or he's not and this is BS.

Joe isn't retiring people. Not right now. There is no way Joe would screw the team by not telling them he was retiring before the draft and had he told them that I see no way they pass on Wirfs.
So far no Breida trade huh... so another fluff report

Why does every agent still use the Niners as bait... it was understandable when there was all that cap space but now that doesnt hold much weight. Old habits die hard I guess. Just dont see this stuff leaking out if the niners were still in serious contention. Lynch likes those surprise signings, the times the "interest" has been real like OBJ and Mack, it comes out after the fact when the Lynch has walked away from negotiations.
There's still guards an centers available that we have looked at. Not too late to pick one up.

Lynch was just in a press conference two days ago told the writers that he talked to Joe and that he is positive that he will not retire.

We don't need Joe or Trent Williams, we need both!

Williams current cap number is $14,500,000. Unless he is willing to take HUGE cut in salary to escape Washington, he isn't coming here. We only have $13M now with rookies to sign. Ain't happenin'.

Some of us act like it's 30 years ago (no salary cap). If it were, we'd still have Buckner and Sanders lol.

???

$11M falls off with Staley retiring. And Williams would be signing a LTD anyways (which could drop his Year 1 total)

Plus, another $3M in cap savings is coming when Goodwin is released or traded.

Thanks for everything!
