HUGE difference is Baakle won it his first year... Lynch in year 3.
Yep, Lynch had to completely rebuild the roster, Baalke...not so much
Great point!

In 2011, Baalke did a good job. Drafting Aldon and bringing in free agents like Whitner, Rogers, etc. really helped the team. In January 2012 he was a good choice for that award. He was fired for what he did in the subsequent several off seasons.

"Lynch is nothing without all of Baalke's great players."
LOL
Baalke was a doofus. He couldn't draft an all pro if it fell on him. His best draft that got him executive of the year was all done prior to him. I have to say, if John and Kyle can continue to keep the relationship and trust that they have now, this is a dynasty in the making. You look at Bellicheat over in New England, and you get the feeling Bellicheat is doing everything himself, because he doesn't trust anybody else to take the load off himself.

Congratulations to John Lynch for winning PFWA's Executive of the Year award. Adding Kwon Alexander, re-signing Jimmie Ward, drafting Nick Bosa, Deebo Samuel and Dre Greenlaw — yeah, it's been a pretty good 2019 for the #49ers' front office. https://t.co/dkzLTo2rb1

Congrats!
John Harbaugh is b******t. That was already a playoff team last year and Kyle and his coaching staff had worked effing miracles with the personnel Lynch brought in this year. Lynch deserves it but Kyle definitely deserves COTY. Hands down.
Totally agree. I don't like John simply because he beat us and he's a great coach in his own right, but I think Kyle's achievement is - as you said - greater. Between coach of the year and a Lombardi, I'd take the Lombardi. Those popularity points go big towards being in the Hall of fame.

I was watching an old movie last night 'To Live And Die In LA' and the guy that played Willem DaFoe's body guard/heavy muscle dude looks like Lynch. Lynch looks like he could be a tough guy in the movies.

I wonder if his recognition for this season will help him get into the HOF?

John is a fantastic CEO type. Kyle is the brains behind the operation.
