And with rookies, unless we take a G or CB with our 1st rounder, it would reason that the expectation would be for them to work their way up. No more moving directly into the starting lineup.

A trade down for a 2nd and 3rd makes sense. Resign AA and Sanders, franchise Buckner, extend Kittle, and maybe look at the CB or C position in FA.

This upcoming draft is absolutely loaded at WR, might be the best WR class that I've ever seen in 20+ years of following the draft. To me that means two thing. The 49ers should continue to build their WR receiving corps...and the 49ers should definitely look to upgrade the talent level at CB.

Ultimately I'd like to see them walk out of the draft with improved depth at WR, CB, C, Edge, S and LB. They may not urgently need starters at any of those spots but they are going to need guys that are able to rotate in and contribute in case of injury, much how rookies like Greenlaw have done this year but also players that can be developed into eventual starters in a year or two for when the eventual cap crunch comes.

While it remains very remote, I'm still holding out hope that my guy Laviska Shenault from CU makes it to the end of the 1st round. But I really doubt it. He's big, fast, great catch radius, and makes super clutch plays. He'll probably be gone in the first 20 picks.

I wonder what the FO thinks of Hurd?!

That they regret not trading that pick for a 2nd rounder in this year's draft?

But in all seriousness, they must have been really high on him going into the draft. I wonder if he's ever going to recover or they view it like Pettis at this point.

Age well these comments did not.

I like Matt and his podcast but sometimes he is too busy sucking Chris Ballard ´s dick.
And I have my theory about his "hate" of Lynch. I think Matt had a lot of news inside the front office by scouts under Baalke.
But Shanahan and Lynch don ´t like to leak stuffs.
And most important Shanahan doesn´t seem to listen to scouts for the draft.
Matt can´t trash Shanahan because Shanny is basically untouchable so Lynch is always the one to blame.
Sometimes Matt will say that Lynch should have said no to Shanahan on picks like CJ, Pettis or Joe Williams.
But Kyle is the boss, so if he said "The scouts loved AJ Brown but Deebo is my man.", guess what will happen?
That´s something that a draft guy like Matt Miller doesn´t get. Guys like Shanahan, they don´t care about scouts ´s boards.
They only care about the fit in their systems.
That´s why Bill Belichick the coach saves Bill Belichick the GM´s asses every year.
He knows what type of players he wants to develop even if it means bombing a draft.

Me personally, I like John Lynch from day one because he is not a control freak and he understands that Kyle is the face of the franchise.

The best news about the draft this year? Two fifth rounders baby! Lynch's sweet spot.

Round 1 (own)
Round 5 (own)
Round 5 (via Broncos in Sanders trade)
Round 6 (own)
Round 7 (own)
Round 7 (via Lions in Eli Harold trade)

Previous drafts: George Kittle, DJ Jones, Trent Taylor, and Dre Greenlaw. (If only Taylor could stay healthy...)

I wonder if they can trade down our last first round pick for 10 round five picks!

Can get more than 10 for pick 32

Could land a 2nd, 3rd, and late 4th potentially.

Let's stick to the 5th round lol.

4th rounders under John/Kyle
Wishnowsky(all power to him but we know what's what)
Street
Joe Williams

5th rounders
George Kittle
Trent Taylor
DJ Reed
Dre Greenlaw

Lynch can still improve.

Insightful.

Im right though

Weather we win this year or not, we as a team should always want to be improving.

John should show these text to the players.

What you got to say now?

Could trade with the Pats, they have 14 picks

I see us pulling a Patriots and trading our 1st back to some desperate rebuild team trying to trade up (LMAO like us two years ago with Foster).
