Even more seems to reinforce that drafting is largely about luck as well as player development. I doubt that their scouts and GM suddenly just started to suck after all the success they had from 2010-2012, its just every time you choose a player, you roll the dice and more often than not, you crap out.

I don't get it. People act like the Broncos went 4-12 last year. They were a miracle against Kansas City away from making the playoffs this season. And the year they won the Super Bowl, Manning was trash. Nothing more than a spiritual leader.

We don't need this hanging over our heads if we are trying change our image as a an organization..especially to attract players.
Lynch would come off as Good Cop, and should help his image even more for potential free agents.
Absolutely correct. It is petty.
Just curious, but what would you guys do if someone owed you $300k and didn't give a s**t the advice you gave him?
Maybe I break their legs but I am not a football team.
The 49ers have an image problem that could hurt them from attracting talent. Would a hard line on Aldon make them less or more attractive to potential FAs?
Well if you think about the law suit is justified, this shouldn't be a red flag towards the 49ers front office. If you owe someone, you owe someone and I'm pretty sure if any free agents asked about the Aldon Smith situation it would be clear with no b******t. Aldon Smith is not exactly what you call a boy scout, so why do thi fool any favors, or was it CK's fault for hooking up with his ex?
Should or shouldn't isn't the question for me. If there is any chance at all it could hurt the team's image with FAs I would forget about it.
Aldon's alcoholism is his own cross to bear.

Bill Belichick just keeps bringing in all kinds of players and trains them up to the "New England" way. It is more than just Brady that keeps that machine rolling.

Assuming that Lynch isn't in favor of it. It fits with his theme about accountability. You f**k up(over and over and over and over and over), you get held accountable.
Yes i understand that, but Aldon wasn't under his watch. Should not attach himself to someone's else's f**kup. Mainly if that player hasn't been on the team for a while now. Or is going to be on the team going forward.

edit- even if this has nothing to do with GM Duties... Jed should make it seem like it was Lynch who ask this lawsuit to be thrown out.
Usually I'd agree with this.... but with our Cap room... I feel it is not worth the bad press.
It's like breaking up with your crazy Girlfriend...and just leave some of your stuff with her...Especially if you have a good income... just so you don't have to deal with her anymore... move on.

what will potential FAs make it? I don't know.
The team has plenty of money for signing bonuses.
