Nothing special during that time, but 2012 was really good. Wolfe, Jackson, Trevathan in one draft is nice work. The rest of the drafts have some solid contributors sprinkled in here and there.
I think ultimately thats what you're looking for. Its darn near impossible to ace the draft year after year. Seattle had amazing drafts from 2010-2012, after that they've been sub-par. The hope is we have a few good drafts to form our core, especially now that we're picking high in the draft, and then build on it the best we can. Also, our margin of error is much higher if we find the right QB to build around.

He basically said that he respects Paraag's knowledge in contract handling and will lean on him for that but he reports to Jed York.Originally posted by NCommand:I guess it's all TBD. It's still Jed and Paraag at the top. Period. So we'll see. But from what I gathered from Lynch, he was a straight shooter with both men. I hope, somewhere in these conversations, they defined each others roles and put it down on paper. I hope there was enough out there for Lynch to raise that red flag issue with Paraag and his "meddling." It certainly sounds like the "leaks" were addressed. With Lynch, there is hope he can shield/fend off the business side a bit. The 6 year contract also helps b/c no way does Jed want to go through another Baalke/Harbaugh debacle again and have John run back to the media for a job AND pay him a ton left on his contract.
In short...there's hope.
Well that dynamic is no different from the past. It's the boundaries with Paraag that was the issue with Harbaugh and many others (Paraag in on way too many football stuff)...those lines need to be very much clarified to avoid head-butting going forward. Paraag can't be Jed's mole.

DEN's past 4 drafts seem ehhh. 2012 was a good year. Just looking at the AV rating because I'm not very familiar with their roster past their stars. Maybe someone with better knowledge of that roster can correct me.

Damn I liked the hire but you're turning me.
Hopefully one of these noobs knows how to run a team.

We don't need this hanging over our heads if we are trying change our image as a an organization..especially to attract players.
Lynch would come off as Good Cop, and should help his image even more for potential free agents.

So it was reported last night that the 49ers were going to interview Peterson. I wake up this morning and Peterson has been hired. Was there even an actual interview or was he just hired? For someone who didn't know he would be doing this 2 weeks ago he sure is making things happen quickly. Its a pleasant surprise. ..

Yeah, I like though when questioned about whether Lynch works for Paraag, he said that he was very up front during the process and he has been instructed, he reports to Jed, but then tied it in afterwards to his admiration for Paraag's skills as a contract negotiator and that he was looking forward to working with him.
Im just kinda reading between the lines there.

I haven't heard about him until yesterday as well. Still, can't be worse than Baalke's failed WRs and his All-ACL injured rookies drafts. If every rookie is healthy, we're already improving.

Thats good to know. We could always use better pass rushers, thats sorely lacking right now. As far as the OL, the Shanahan's have a history of getting more out of less with their scheme. They know what traits to look for when configuring the OL.

edit- even if this has nothing to do with GM Duties... Jed should make it seem like it was Lynch who ask this lawsuit to be thrown out.
