"The process by which he was hired."
He makes it sound like some sort of dastardly conspiracy.
Yeah, I don't get it. Not the first time a darkhorse candidate emerged to get a job. People don't have a problem with the hire, but a problem with the "process"....I really don't know what they are talking about.
Did Trotter even think before asking the last question? Not every guy who knows what the job requires or how to do it will perform that job the best. Anyone who has ever worked before could tell you that.

Adam Peters is in his first season as director of college scouting for the Broncos and his eighth season overall with the franchise. He was the club's assistant director of college scouting from 2014-15 following three years as a national scout and two seasons scouting the Western region for the team.
In Peters' 13 NFL seasons, he has been part of three Super Bowls, five conference titles and 10 division crowns. In his first seven years with Denver, Peters helped the team acquire 27 players thought the draft and college free agency that were members of the Super Bowl 50 championship roster.
He was considered their top scout and a guy who will be a GM soon. This is a great hire. He worked with two winning franchises (Patriots/Broncos)

I liked when Lynch said he wants players that love to play football and if they don't then he'll get people that do. A focus on the commitment to the game at a high level seems to have been missing the past few seasons after all those vets left (Willis, Justin, Gore). This is a young roster and a relaxed attitude is poison to their development. Time to get guys that eat/sleep football. Questioning talent is fine. Questioning heart is a big problem that can become part of the a team's fabric.
Lynch kinda alluded already to some of this. He basically said that he respects Paraag's knowledge in contract handling and will lean on him for that but he reports to Jed York.Originally posted by NCommand:I guess it's all TBD. It's still Jed and Paraag at the top. Period. So we'll see. But from what I gathered from Lynch, he was a straight shooter with both men. I hope, somewhere in these conversations, they defined each others roles and put it down on paper. I hope there was enough out there for Lynch to raise that red flag issue with Paraag and his "meddling." It certainly sounds like the "leaks" were addressed. With Lynch, there is hope he can shield/fend off the business side a bit. The 6 year contract also helps b/c no way does Jed want to go through another Baalke/Harbaugh debacle again and have John run back to the media for a job AND pay him a ton left on his contract.
In short...there's hope.

This Peters guy hasn't done much from what I'm reading. 2016 was his first season as Director of college scouting and we have not seen the results of his work since it's this upcoming 2017 draft where the results will be seen. Before that he was an area scout. Which area?

Because Lynch is capable of learning different jobs from different people, and becoming well versed in ALL aspects of being a GM. Something most people can only do in one area of expertise. Peters might be the scouting expert, but he might not have the communication skills.

Thanks. I should have went to the DEN site instead of trying to look for his wiki page and DEN's draft results. So he scouted the western region. I'll take a look to see which Broncos came from that region.
edit: actually he was just a Western scout for a couple seasons.
