All will be forgiven if we land Bosa.

That and hit big on free agency

I can see us winning a meaningless game and missing out on him. I can also see with another bad draft class the ownership getting impatient in 2 more years and blowing the roster and gm up.
1)Failed drug test
2) Injury concerns
3) Kicked out of combine

First round pick! Yeah!

Once he's a 49er, he'll develop the urge to break a girlfriend's cell phone.

Exactly what I was thinking. Every other team gets away with drafting known jerks and criminals while we can't. It's really unbelievable.

Honestly, how in the hell is Foster still with the same woman as before?! If I knew that I almost would have cut him for that alone, because he obviously learned nothing from this offseason.

As for Lynch - I don't blame him whatsoever. The player had talent, and he had already fallen in the draft. You have to roll the dice, and it was obvious from interviews why Foster's personality gave them hope. Lynch has got to feel absolutely sick about this on multiple levels.

The answer is to stop drafting headcases. There are always plenty of talented players in a draft that aren't emotional basketcases or downright nutjobs.

They had to learn the hard way that good game film isn't the only thing that matters.

You missed my edit. They will now be passing on pro bowlers whe are headcases in college but who ball out without any off field issues in the pros. It makes things just another degree harder. It's what has to be done, but it hurts to have to do it. Other teams get to draft anyone and the 49ers have to use a smaller draft board. That will mean we will inevitably pass on a great player because of their red flags and another team will reap the reward.

The curse is real. This is just more evidence.

Or maybe he will start driving drunk with weed in his car, open fire at an out of control party at his house where a girl was raped, talk about bombs in an airport, beat his girlfriend, beat some random dudes in a hotel, then retire due to cte. I think that is a short summary of some of the issues this team has recently faced.

Joe Williams, Reuben foster, pettis, cj beathard, etc why are we throwing away draft picks? Trading up none the less.

I get Williams and Foster but how is Pettis throwing away a draft pick? He looked decent before getting hurt and it's still his rookie year. Talk about jumping the gun a little. may as well add Street to your list before he gets a chance to take a snap if your using that level of patience.

We weren't in a position to draft IR guys. It was a bad idea.

Or beat an elder with his own cane.
Nothing ever seems to go our way. Even when things look the brightest it's ever been, everything comes crashing back down to earth and the reality of being a Niners fan smacks you hard in the face. It's getting to a point where you are checking sports headlines to see what else bad just happened to us; Kittle tears his ACL ending his season with 999 yards? Jimmy G test HIV positive after a wild night with a bunch of pornstars and now has to quit football? Sherman decides to retire too after realizing we aren't going anywhere?

It's getting hard to stay optimistic about this franchise when everything we touch blows up in our faces.

First round pick! Yeah!

And at the very least the Saints wanted him at that point too. Both teams recognized a top prospect with some red flag concerns who had fallen down the board.

Nobody complained at the time the pick was made seeing as he was thought of as a top 10 prospect.

This Lynch is more of a PR guy .. smooth BS talker

I think York hired him for precisely this reason. Jed was tired of being the spokesperson and getting hammered by the media and fans, so he gets a charismatic figurehead.

Yeah, but he shouldn't have any business making personnel decisions.

2017 draft is looking awful in hindsight outside of Kittle. And if tight end is the one pick you hit on....yeah lol.
If he's an all-pro, that's nothing to sneeze at. Taylor has been hurt (played well last year with JG) I'll reserve full judgment on Thomas and Witherspoon until we get a DC who actually knows how to scheme, put guys in a position to succeed and preaches turnovers, etc. Brieda and Mullens, although not drafted, are solid finds as well.

Off to a really bad first 2 years. Draft misses Thomas pettis and foster, spoon , bad extensions in armsdead and ward... hell even jimmy g had only played what 6 games for us? Hope he ain't wrong about him being good or he done here.

So far the talent evaluation has been poor.

OK, so what does the F.O do about it? One would hope that they have a sit down and go thru each and every "hit" and each and every "miss" and figure out where did they go wrong, and where did they go riight. At least I HOPE that is what they do. Looking at the hits and misses just of the top 4 picks two yrs in a row...they have to know they screwed up, and need to find out why, where, and who. Hopefully Mayhew brings an adult with experience to the table...and that the others , Peters, HC, GM ...listen to him.

Also, even tho he has the power to do so, kyle's Must have picks really should go thru full scrutiny to be sure they DO have value and that the value is warranted. Just saying he "has to have so and so" can't be part of the plan. We have to improve on the misses, esp top 4 picks. They need to work on the WHY did they fail. I sure hope they do so...or have done so.

Crazy how the issues have been the exact same for six years. Arrests, injuries, and now rumors swirling about Goodwin potentially retiring? I've seen this movie before.
