I think York hired him for precisely this reason. Jed was tired of being the spokesperson and getting hammered by the media and fans, so he gets a charismatic figurehead.

Yeah, but he shouldn't have any business making personnel decisions.

That's not happening. Lynch didnt play Solomon Thomas at LEO. Don'the forget, our DC also thought it was s good idea to play AA with his 5.0 + 40-time at LEO.

As for Foster, Lynch isn't the first to take a risk on such a player. Unfortunately Foster has a special kind of stupid. He also questioned the shoulder, and a member of our world class medical staff said what shoulder? He also had Joe Williams off his draft board and Kyle pushed to get him.

We've got a lot of legit football guys making decisions. It's time they made some real football decisions. Character needs to check out, play guys where they should be played, and get more aggressive in fixing the team.

No, but what is he most qualified for? A GM role or a PR team systems role? What role is Adam Peters best suited for?

It's actually a promotion for both.
I don't disagree with this. Just don't think it's happening unless some team wants to pluck Peters.
Joe Williams, Reuben foster, pettis, cj beathard, etc why are we throwing away draft picks? Trading up none the less.
The 49ers have to have the worst luck of any franchise when it comes to drafting character. The Seahawks take Frank Clarke who beat the s**t out of a woman to the point she was begging for her life and hospitalized and he's a franchise cornerstone. The Chiefs drafted Tyreek Hill who choked, hit and threw his pregnant girlfriend down the stairs and he's a top 5 wr and reason they're playing so well. The 49ers spend a first round pick on Aldon Smith and Rueben Foster who didn't have any legal issues before the draft, become all pro type players and are cut before their rookie contract ends. How does this only happen to the 49ers

We did, but you gotta hit on those picks. It's like when the Rams traded down with Washington in that RG3 trade. You have to hit on your picks. If not, it doesn't matter.
Dude can't draft or overpays for free agents

Exactly what I was thinking. Every other team gets away with drafting known jerks and criminals while we can't. It's really unbelievable.

Honestly, how in the hell is Foster still with the same woman as before?! If I knew that I almost would have cut him for that alone, because he obviously learned nothing from this offseason.

As for Lynch - I don't blame him whatsoever. The player had talent, and he had already fallen in the draft. You have to roll the dice, and it was obvious from interviews why Foster's personality gave them hope. Lynch has got to feel absolutely sick about this on multiple levels. Foster screwing everyone over is gonna cost us drafting other talented players as they will now be gunshy about selecting guys with character flags who will go on to have pro bowl appearances with other teams, so it's a double whammy.

Sure does seem like a curse, doesn't it?

I get Williams and Foster but how is Pettis throwing away a draft pick? He looked decent before getting hurt and it's still his rookie year. Talk about jumping the gun a little. may as well add Street to your list before he gets a chance to take a snap if your using that level of patience.

Honestly I bet that's more what it is right now anyway...lynch has the title but I wouldn't be shocked if Peters/Martin/Kyle we're making the calls

The answer is to stop drafting headcases. There are always plenty of talented players in a draft that aren't emotional basketcases or downright nutjobs.

They had to learn the hard way that good game film isn't the only thing that matters.

You missed my edit. They will now be passing on pro bowlers whe are headcases in college but who ball out without any off field issues in the pros. It makes things just another degree harder. It's what has to be done, but it hurts to have to do it. Other teams get to draft anyone and the 49ers have to use a smaller draft board. That will mean we will inevitably pass on a great player because of their red flags and another team will reap the reward.

Mr. Lynch, kudos! You followed through your words.

However, having this guy 3rd ovr on the draft board says a lot about our talent evaluators...

I never thought this franchise would be a laughing stock of the NFL. Sucks waiting up to this news but I new this was going to happen sooner or later. Two 1st round picks in the same draft have been wasted . Lynch better come up big next year
