We should probably consider it since Kerley is our top receiver. Just if he goes receiver 3 years in a row we have a problem.
Or if the WR likes fishing too much.

All of this is meaningless if we can get a QB and WR who are able to hook up on a simple corner fade route in a game that counts with less than a minute on the clock.
Never forget.
Never forget.

He is the worst. I have no idea why they have that guy here instead of a former 49er, or at least someone who is interesting.

lol too bad lynch isn't gonna have total control like Millen did....
Yeah, I think many are undermining the level of commitment and skill set that is required to be a successful GM (most thankless job in the biz)...that said, this does not seem to be setting up as a traditional GM role either. But Millen is right...Lynch doesn't know what Lynch doesn't know right now...it'll be years before he has a firm grasp on how to acquire coaches, firings, interview process, working with the analytics and scouting teams, free agency, cap, player acquisitions, being middle management (between owners/coaches), legal, media, etc.
I think that saying "it will be years before he has a firm grasp " on all these things is a reach. Sure there will be some learning curve but I dont think its going to take him years. He has Paraag doing the cap, he will have personnel guys doing scouting, and somehow I dont see John having problems with the interview process. He is a smart guy and this isnt rocket science.

He's like the opposite of a Cohn or a Kawakami. He's so overly optimistic about everything its annoying.

There have been many different kinds of GMs and this might be a whole new one, but I don't see him as a yes man or a man who can't work with others effectively. If they stop here and keep Gamble and the scouting staff as is...then I might be unhappy. But it seems likely they will add another guy with experience in the structure of front office building.

I bet Lynch knows a great deal on how to construct a defense. He'll leave the offense to Shanahan. It'll take a couple years but this could definitely work out.

I wouldn't mind the optimism but it is the way he backs it up with supposed insider knowledge that he won't share that bothers me. Like when he would go on about knowing Jed had a plan and that he had talked to him many times about the plan but couldn;t really explain it to us dumb fans. It comes off as arrogant BSing.

I just hope he doesn't call Kyle "kylie".
