Its the same process as it would have been for any GM that they might have hired. Gamble will be evaluated on everything, on how he fits with the overall philosophy, the quality of his scouting reports, his past track record, how hard he works, how well he relates to the other front office staff and coaching staff.....etc.
After a few months working with the guy I'm sure Lynch will have a better idea of what sort of caliber executive he is and whether or not he wants him to remain on the staff. The scouts will be evaluated the same way and usually with a new GM you will get a few new scouts at minimum, hired after the draft.
Watch Indy in May. I bet you Ballard dumps a bunch of scouts and brings in new scouts and some new executives.
