guess Gordon will dominate and become the new Randy Moss now.

Or be out of the league altogether in a few months. Time will tell.

Would have been fine giving up a conditional 5th for him, but after Aldon and Foster now I just don't trust these troubled guys. Hopefully Foster is good to go from now on, but I'd definitely wouldn't hold my breathe on it.

I'm thinking this has got to be the only good reason (and it is a good reason) that they didn't pull the trigger. Anyone disappointed has to keep in mind Gordon hasn't been able to pull himself together in four years. He has gone through multiple GM and coaching changes since the last time he was available to play a full season. With that said, for a conditional 5th, I think they should've done it.

I didn't take it as only a wide receiver, but I just don't see wide receiver as a top priority. Could we be better, sure. But we've got a decent group. I'd rather address some other areas that are actual deficiencies on the team.

If Lynch wasn't gifted Jimmy, we'd likely have Kirk Cousins or have drafted Darnold. What's one dimensional about the way I looked at it?

You're judging a GM based on WRs and TEs

I also don't think it's likely Cousins comes here. Minny is perfect for him

Outside of Jimmy, Baalke has proven nothing. Our team as a whole is still garbage
Always the Bridesmaid. Kidding...this is one marriage I did NOT want.
Why was Sherman yelling at lynch yesterday ?

Me too.

I respect the varying opinions here yet I wanted nothing to do with Gordon.

Very talented...and very troubled.

That looked like a persuasive debate. Hardly yelling.

I'm judging the GM on the direction of the team. The direction is up. As for not likely, your opinion, but it was pretty much all but a formality Cousins was coming here until JG was traded here. And if you think the team is still garbage, just keep watching.
This is starting to remind of the SF Giants Front Office. "Oh yeah, we were totally in the thick of it," and yet signs no one.

Well the direction can only be up. What was our record when Jimmy stepped in?

We're better run than the Browns, that's about all we've proven so far

He's better at press conferences and public relations. Overall though he's a lot like Baalke in that he believes too much in his own draft picks. Thank god Belichick has a relationship with Mike Shanahan and gift wrapped Jimmy G to his kid. We'd be utterly f'd without that pity trade from Belichick.

Lynch is not a real GM. Baalke wasn't a real GM either. The reason the strategies of the two seem similar is the same reason we were turned away by the various GM candidates we interviewed or tried to interview: Paraag Marathe and Jed are the actual GMs and refuse to take a backseat. We havent had a legitimate GM since McCloughan, who was shown the door shortly after Jed took over.

Alarm bells should have sounded in everybody's head when the Niners openly admitted Paraag made the draft day trade with the Bears in '17, after the offseason of victory laps for hiring Shanahan to an ungodly contract. How many fluff pieces did we see on Marathe that offseason? A lot.

They blamed the state of the organization on Baalke, and got a good portion of the fan base to believe it when they sent him packing.

We have a brilliant offensive coach who is hopefully not over his head as a HC, and we have a very nice prospect at QB. The roster is a couple years away from contention, and it will take competence, luck, and money to get there.

Solid theory. One I've been fearing was true.
I can't believe Lynch or Shanny would not part way with a non-conditional 5th for Josh Gordon??

Who we targeting in next year 5th round of the draft??

JJ ARCEGA-WHITESIDE of Stanford??

They aren't targeting anyone since they don't have a 5th rounder
