Lynch is not a real GM. Baalke wasn't a real GM either. The reason the strategies of the two seem similar is the same reason we were turned away by the various GM candidates we interviewed or tried to interview: Paraag Marathe and Jed are the actual GMs and refuse to take a backseat. We havent had a legitimate GM since McCloughan, who was shown the door shortly after Jed took over.
Alarm bells should have sounded in everybody's head when the Niners openly admitted Paraag made the draft day trade with the Bears in '17, after the offseason of victory laps for hiring Shanahan to an ungodly contract. How many fluff pieces did we see on Marathe that offseason? A lot.
They blamed the state of the organization on Baalke, and got a good portion of the fan base to believe it when they sent him packing.
We have a brilliant offensive coach who is hopefully not over his head as a HC, and we have a very nice prospect at QB. The roster is a couple years away from contention, and it will take competence, luck, and money to get there.
