Credibility...

Gase > 49ers Front office..

At this point I'll believe a chair over this front office. We have to over pay for anyone to come to the niners. This place is toxic..

This front office has "earned" zero credibility....

Especially a GM that has failed so miserably in drafting.

The truth shall set you free.

Like Sus said. We are years behind solely on incompetence.

The dismantling of this team by Baalke and it taking this long to correct it is utterly rediculous also imo. Thats all on Jed.

That's a double edged sword though. Everyone here is telling Jed "hire a HC/GM and just step out of the way! Don't interfere! Just sign the checks!" Yet, he doesn't interfere with Baalke's choice as HC and then people say "Only an idiot wouldn't have overruled him! You gotta step in! You're not just the guy with the money, but the guy with responsibility!"

So which is it? Jed should let his GM do his job, or Jed should step in and overrule the GM when he thinks he's making a mistake?

I completely agree. The more stuff that comes out since Baalke's departure shows that Jed pretty much let him do what he thought was right. I have to hope that he learned a lesson, and in the future, if/when he has to replace a GM again, that he doesn't wait a year longer than necessary.

I agree.

I want him banned permanently from Levi's Stadium and the Candlestick Park site.

Trent was a con artist who duped Jed into a contract extension. Hope he has fun counting the rest of his contract monies while sitting at home.

Moving on...

"Double edge sword" not at all. "Everyone here"? I know not who you speak of. Not sure if any have spoken in that absolute sense either. However....

A COMPETENT CEO will put his foot down where needed when his subordinants want to do something way out in left field. It has probably happened with Jed and his staff more than we know. Wanting to sign a free agent or draftee with a sketchy past? "Ok fine, Ill let you handle it, but dont let me down. Let me down, the next one wont happen". You can sure as s**t bet that if Baalke wanted Ray Rice or The Kracken(forget his name), Jed or other owners wouldve vetoed the hell out of that lol....

A husband, principle, general manager on a job, etc. doesnt/shouldnt deal with things in a hands off way, allowing a subordinate to act on their authority, all the time or in every instance/situation. There are areas they exact control and veto power over when needed. Jed saying "hell no, not that guy(Tomsula), there is a more sound and qualified person for the job" was one of them imo.

Very good point.

If everything is true with what we are hearing then the only problem I have with Jed is why he didn't clean house last year when the Tomsula hire blew up in Baalke's face? Maybe Trent convinced him that he could bring in Chip and they can right the ship together I dunno.

That's the only question I have remaining.
We got Shanahan just about signed, Trent fired and Tom Cable back in Seattle..the world is telling us to just let it go.

He insists on still being in charge so the best hope is that this time he picks truly competent people to run the team to make up for his lack of competence.
lol, is that you Tim

I don't follow TK. I've read maybe a half dozen of his articles in the last several years. I'm just expressing my feelings about York. I think those feelings are well justified.

Justified?, only to you. Not sure you realized what just happened here (this thread)

I gave my reasons for why I think it is justified. Obviously you disagree. That's cool. And, yes, I do realize what "just happened here". I just came to a different conclusions based on what is presented than you evidently did. I guess I could ask if you are a Jed sock puppet just because I came to different conclusions than you but that wouldn't be called for would it?

Pay no mind to him

I thought it was already assumed that Jed took a huge step back after Jim Harbaugh and tweeting after losses during that time? Either way, this front office just needs to stop making everyone's actual role so secretive and stand a hard line and be clear about everyone's role.

The fact that they are not clear and are a little secretive leads me to believe they are dabbling where they shouldn't.
Gase has no idea who influence the decision and by how much.
York at least signed off on the hire.
The Yorks and Marathe have hired Erickson, Nolan, Singletary, Tomsula and Kelly. Harbaugh was the only good hire they have made.
The Yorks and Marathe fired Harbaugh.
The Yorks and Marathe didn't fire Baalke with Harbaugh and when it was obvious that they should get rid Baalke with Tomsula they kept him.

The Yorks and Marathe are 100% respinsible for the decisions that have been made since 2013 and they are still making all of the decisions. They are going to independenty decide on a coachband a GM. I am hoping they get lucky.

Jed gets a bad rap for meddling which is incorrect. If he deserves criticism its for keeping Baalke too long.

You were right on the Jed thing and I was wrong.

Agree ion keeping Baalke too long.

Looking forward to a better day.
