Ugg. MAN I hate Seattle. 1) Gabbert: Really not much to say. Was Gabbert THE reason they lost? Nope. Did he do ANYTHING to prevent it from happening? Nope. League worst yards per completion. This isn't all his fault. Not by a long shot. He doesn't really have many weapons...but he is SOOOO risk averse and so seldom lets plays develop that he is effectively completely inefective. I'll just leave it there. Not much else to say. 2) O-Line: Again...good in pass protection and not so great run blocking. Facing a great D-Line and front 7 for 3rd straight week and really not allowing much pressure. Some of that of course has to be attributed to Gabbert getting the ball out quickly even when he shouldn't, but they are protecting for him. Huge upgrade this season. 3) Buckner: I have big hopes for him so don't get me wrong, but has he looked a bit invisible to you guys this season? I just haven't seen much from him. Now he's a 3-4 end so I realize he isn't going to pop on every play, but I just haven't seen much. I also realize he's young and learning on the job so I'm giving him a pass. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing what I am. 4) Blair: Where'd he go? I was so excited to see him get some playtime after the preseason and I've seen almost nothing from him. I know he isn't starting but he's been in there and he's not getting there either. 5) Brooks: Brooks actually had himself a game. I dunno how long it lasts but he's been playing pretty well this year. 6) Harold: Outside of injuring Wilson, dude has been invisible. The Niners desperately need some rush from the OLB position. Tank Carradine isn't doing anything. Aaron Lynch can't get back fast enough. 7) Ward: That hurts. Don't know how bad he's hurt but he was really starting to play well. Yeah, he had some trouble with Benjamin, but I think Ward might really have a bright future at CB. 8) Hyde: Garbage yards at the end there but I don't care. Was still nice to see him find some space and score twice. Obviously the D was relaxed, but was still nice to see. 9) Murderers Row: OK. They are finally through the Murderers Row of front 7s. That is probably the worst 3 game stretch they'll see of defenses. The Cowboys and Cards will present their own challenges, but those were the best fronts they'll see all year (and they'll see 2 of them again). NOW I want to see if this O can get untracked. NOW I want to see if they can get this run game going and yes, I'd like to see a diff QB. 10) Rebuilding Year: We always knew this wasn't going to be a playoff year. We all knew that going in. This year to me is really an extended Preseason. Its just taking stock of what you have and what you still need. There are good pieces all over the team and they are playing youth at almost every position. Long run, they'll be better for it. Short term, there is going to be some ugly losses. Strap up because this may not be the last ugly loss on the schedule...but I'll bet there are going to be some surprises this year and at the end we are all going to have a much better picture of what they have and what they still need.

I'd add Bowman to the list of 49ers players the Seahawks have deliberately set out to cripple.

nope. t'was the only bright spot. Unless u count Hyde's garbage time TDs/Celebrations.

He was running and untouched it could have happened at anytime.

Agreed. And SEA starting defense plays a lot of special teams.

And I really agree with Sus and Kolohe about Hyde. Annoyed the hell out of me too!

Agreed. I already dread seeing them playing Az on a short week if we look this bad with a full weeks practice. Should see Kap after the Az massacre

I HATE those motherf**kers. that's exactly how they got Williams. That block became illegal because of them. hopefully that dude gets fined, but I'm sure he wont.

Man, if only Harold had snapped willow's ankle. I would've been elated.

I saw bits and pieces (got married this weekend and slept all day on Sunday lol)

I think people try to talk themselves into thinking we had a chance in his game, nothing is gonna change without a better QB.

Hope Ward is okay and did Vance get hurt as well?

Sorry Marvin, but saying it's not entirely Gabbert's fault is a cop out. He has receivers out there, not those robotic tackling dummies. If he would just take SOME shots down the field and at least try to complete something more than 10 yards, it would help this offense. He has got to be benched and soon if this team has any chance to win some games.

Good summary Marvin. Only thing missing is a post mortem on our HC/OC.,.and DC. This was supposed to be a yr when our biggest liability had been fixed....OC/HC. And then 2 weeks in a row, Chip comes out with run run pass....and punt. Did that 8 times , 8 EIGHT 3 and outs. Oh, and converted one 3rd down pass for another set of 3 and out. My question is where is the anger, the dissatisfaction with our OC/HC? It was there all game. And when chip went in at half time to make changes in game plan, we come back out and run....
Run run pass. And out. Man that was THE most depressing thing I have seen since tomsul was here last. It was a carbon copy for tomsul ...run run pass. And on the third down, SEA was ready for that pass every single stinking time. It was embarrassing our HC is such a hard head. And his presser? Jeez, "we wanted to get a little bit on first and second down to make it easier on 3rd down." Really? Our HC actually meant that? Wow....Right now....all the good things chip did in PS, getting guys off the bench, cutting the dead wood out....and then this great playcaller comes out and turns turtle. He literally chickened out and only once in 3rd Qtr led off with a pass... 12 yds, first down.

Chip is a huge disappointment to date, and maybe we need a new QB, WR, NT...but right now,....we need a good OC. And we don't have one at present.
