So much fail with your post actually. Go back and look at the pass to Torrey Smith and see how he went through multiple reads before finding Torrey on the post route. How often would you see Kap do that? Rarely. Gabbert sees the field WAY better than Kap and it's not even close. Someone cue the picture with Kap having wide open uncovered wide receivers against the Rams and he fails to see it. His field awareness is damn awful. There's a reason Gabbert took over the starting job last year... There's a reason Crabtree didn't want to stick around and was quoted as saying he wants a QB that can get him the ball... There's a reason Torrey Smith has been critical of Kap in the social media world and has taken a shot at him for wearing his headphones in the locker room..

Like I said, Gabbert isn't very good, but he's so much damn better than Kap when it comes to seeing the field and it's not even close. Anyone that thinks otherwise, either hasn't consistently watched the two or has an extreme bias towards Kap.

Sees the field, yet stared down both INTs like Bambi the deer.

Sees the field, goes through progressions correctly, yet now ranked the worst starting QB in the whole league after 2 games by ProFootballFocus.

Sadly all the off season lies about this bust are being proven on the field.

LOL wow you're going off of two games when we've played a couple of the top defenses. Don't get me started on staring down receivers. That's Kap's forte if you didn't know. See throw to Vernon Davis on the out route last year in Arizona. See the pick six against the Packers at home in the playoffs.. The list goes on. Kap is known for staring guys down and trying to rifle the ball in a million miles per hour.. Come again

Neither guy is very good, but Gabbert has way more field awareness. It really isn't close. Gabbert's big issues are his accuracy and his confidence
Gabbert may see the field but he can't pull the trigger, YPA is a huge stat to judge a Qb on and his is down right abysmal. In this particular offense I would love to see Kap. He is super comfortable with what's going on as he stated it's very similar to what he ran at Nevada. He still is the best option, he played last year with 3 major injuries. Put a healthy Kap out there any day over a healthy Gabbert.

Another negative thing about Kap is his long delivery. It is especially a negative in this offense where Chip Kelly wants the ball out quickly and accurately. Gabbert's release is significantly quicker than Kap's. They both have accuracy problems however.

More hyperbole and drivel....

What we know is Gabbert is trash in Chip Kelly's system......FACT

What we don't have any single clue over is how Kap will look in Chip Kelly's system.....FACT

But keep spreading lies, like Gabbert the bust being accurate, reading the field well.....

Dude can read progressions and see the field soooo well, yet hasn't won two games in a row in his entire career and you actually expect some of us to believe those things? Lol.

This guy isn't even reading what I'm posting LOL. I said Gabbert struggles with accuracy. We know Gabbert is trash in Chip's system after two games? That's a fact now I guess. LOL ok guy..

Well then I'll play this FACT game too. We know Kap has been trash since 2014 when he no longer had all the great players around him... FACT

And you think Kap will be better in a system that relies on accuracy, reading the defense, and having a quick delivery. All Kap's biggest weaknesses. LMAO

Here are two plays I thought Gabbert did the right thing to hand off even though the result of the play ended up being very bad (tackle for loss).
Most zone read plays have the backside DE as the key defender and if the QB keeps, then he runs to the edge where the DE came from. Here, the 49ers key the DT (KShort). So Gabbert needs to read his own running lane, but the running lane is now up the A gap - right up the middle.

Kilgore is not supposed to engage Short, but Short gets Kilgore knocked off balanced and unable to make it to the second level. If Gabbert keeps here, he gets mobbed (red LB).

----------------
Same zone read concept as above. The 49ers ran a bunch of packaged plays to try to stress the 7th box defender - this is one of them. The option to handoff, keep, or pass is up to Gabbert and his presnap read of the defensive alignment.

I think Beadles is supposed to move to the second level and block orange while leaving the DT unblocked for the QB to read. Unblocked orange defender chillin and Gabbert doesn't want to keep and run smack dab into the defender. The reason orange is able to stay home and not follow the RB is because the safety is coming down to provide run support.

Textbook run support from a Quarters safety. Trying to win with the zone read is tough considering CAR's offense also does it and CAR's defense probably practices against it everyday.

chip is a joke, he's running the same telegraphed offense he ran in philly that teams consistently said was easy to diagnose

embarrassing

From my look at the passing offense, it seemed the plays were rather simple, lacking any complexity that would have confused defenders. In fairness, however, how much can you do when only Torrey Smith and Patton have been through TC and PS?

Kerley has done well considering how little time he has had but he has also been running very basic route trees. Streator still hasn't unpacked his suitcase.

In order to have a truly good passing offense, you need to have 3 or 4 receivers running patterns in rhythm and good timing if you are to have consistently open receivers. We just don't have receivers like that now, hence, the offense is going to look more predictable until these guys learn it.

the real issue is chip's scheme..it's the same nonsense from philadelphia, its been figured out and he's still doing the exact same things, i really thought he'd change something here in act 2 but so far its the same nonsense which leads to an amazing amount of 3 and outs cuz it's diagnosed pre-snap

Bingo!!!
55 points in two games against teams that were considered to be great defensive teams?

that doesn't really tell me much, they were atrocious in the rams game except for a couple of drives and the same thing in panthers game. the offense has an amazing amount of 3 and outs and the defense is pouncing on the plays...then once in a while he hits them w/ an explosive play. this isn't sustainable..it's a mirror of what the eagles were struggling with as well as chip started to lose way more games than he won

All offseason we're told this was Gabbert's strengths and that Gabbert was a better fit than Kap for Chip's system.

Yet somehow he's ranked the worst QB in the league by PFF.........yeah I think I won't be taking people's opinions about Kap anymore....since ya know, folks were soooo wrong about Gabbert.

It seems the actual game is played on the field and not on paper.

Thankfully Kap has played well on the field before which means there's nothing stopping him from playing well again.

i'd tend to agree w/ you if these concepts aren't the exact replica of what chip did in philly...the run game is being sniffed out pre-snap based on alignment..it was a huge issue in philly and so far he seems to be doing the same thing

he really needs kap to come in and keep it on the zone read to throw defenses off or this run game will continue to struggle cuz gabby isn't willing to keep it and run (proven by hyde telling him keep that sh!t more)

Didn't' he drop a similar pass vs Carolina a few years ago.

Keuchly smacked it out of McD's hands, it was a great defensive play.

In both of these examples, Gabbert keeping would have at the very least resulted in a short gain or back to the LOS. Instead we took huge losses on both plays.
Not sure who can blame. Gabbert had some bad throws but Hyde inability to run the ball hurt. It's was sad to see each run up the middle and barley get a yard out of it. To continue to put your QB in 3 and long or even 2 and long sucks. Plus the drops doesn't give him very much to work with. If the the opposing team scores 40 plus points then maybe we should realize the good of what Gabbert did to keep us in the game

He "missed" 5 times out of 36 attempts. The rest were completed, dropped or were on target but defended well. I would suggest that is not "consistently missing."

Thats what I'm saying. There was FAR more open space had he kept the ball...particularly on the second one.
