Great post. Very frustrating game to watch. The plays were there to be made just didn't handle our part. Hoping for a better performance from the whole team this Sunday

Pass protection has been superb. I mean, one sack in two games against two of the most ferocious D-lines?

I think you're being awfully hard on gabbert. There were some other throws to make but he put up 27 points in a brand new offense in week 2. Could have been more if Vance doesn't drop a perfectly thrown pass in his hands.

And imo, Hyde was terrible yesterday. There were holes created but he either tried cutting outside or didn't hit them hard so made minimal gains. Plus his fumble to Carolina td was the worst play a rb could make. He has to step up.

The defense just got beat all over the place. Didn't have anything to do with the fast paced offense. And if we can get any form of pass rush some of those big plays wouldn't have happened.

Nobody can explain why MM is getting on teh field before Garnett. It either says our coaching staff is lost or Garnett is terrible.

Gabbert is lame and so is our wr corp.

I just don't see how this run game will work without a better running threat at the qb. Or maybe they can run some tosses or sweep or something. But everything outta the shotgun and constantly running on 1st down isn't helping at all. Against the Rams they only average 3.75 yards per carry. Plus Hyde wasn't hitting the holes liek he should be. It's like he's worrying too much about cut back runs. But we do have to factor in the level of competition.

I agree with everything except that Mcdonald's drop was a pretty basic catch, it may have been difficult for him considering his history but most good NFL TE's make that catch with ease.

Didn't' he drop a similar pass vs Carolina a few years ago.

Gabbert is killing this team. Love Chip's scheme so far.

While I agree, and it was obviously apparent, that Gabbert had some MAJOR issues yesterday with his accuracy...I still think Chip and the team have got to stick with him over the next 4-6 weeks. Allow him time to play, watch tape, practice, and hopefully get calmed down. To me, he is like Jeff Garcia as far as almost playing with ADD all the time. Garcia learned to at least harness his craziness in order to make completions and keep drives alive. I still think Gabbert can do the same - will he, is anyone's guess. But stick it out and allow for him to hopefully adjust and evolve a bit.

Even with the O-Line play so far being a strength...I still don't see Kaep as an answer at QB. Only if Gabbert continues to show the same issues and not evolve in the next 4-6 weeks would I want to see Kaep in at QB.

Gonna disagree big.

1) They got the ball with a short field twice and that accounts for 10 of those points.
2) The TD to McDonald was nice but was mostly RAC by McDonald.
3) The pass to Torrey was very nice which I acknowledged.

Thats 24 of the 27 points.

Before McDonalds TD I saw a tweet that said all of SFs scoring drives had covered a total of 60 yards or so.

Hyde? I mentioned last week that I thought he needed to hit the hole sometimes and not constantly try to cut it back. It was tough sledding though in the middle of the line. Those Tackles a LBs are crazy good.

- Marcus Martin starting over Garnett is a huge red flag for the 1st round pick. Is he not strong enough or just stupid?
- It's really interesting to see Buckner on the field as much as he is. Is the team desperate or is he really going to be a good one?
- Gabbert's problem seems to be that the game isn't slowing down for him. He feels rushed in the pocket all the time and it's causing him to make mistakes. Perhaps a few more games behind this offensive line and he might develop some patience back there because he does a lot of good things.
- I really would like to see what Colin can do behind this offensive line because the last few years had him playing behind some of the worst offensive lines I can remember.

The team got 20 of those points buy only having to go 67 yards. We had 6 possessions in a row where we only had 74 yards.
