Merton Hanks on Mushin Muhammad, Remember this game, Sept. 96, 23-7 loss. Panthers had our number in 96.

Is that the yr they came into the league?

Seifert and the Panthers had our number for a few years.

Wrong. It was Dom Capers who coached them their first few years and had our number

Seifert wasn't hired by them til 1999

We left Seifert go cos he couldn't beat GB...(esp one loss due to some boneheaded decisions he made in a MNF game @ GB in '96)

DeBartolo wouldn't tolerate it, at first he just wanted Mooch hired as OC, Seifert felt threatened and slighted, so they "parted ways mutually" (sound familiar?) GM Carmen Policy also pushed for him out the door probably, they always butted heads ego wise

Came in 95, beat us at Candlestick (then known as 3Com Park) 10-7 I think was the score in November 95. Brutal

Eddie D. was mad with the Dec. 96 loss to the Panthers at Home, 30-24 score if I remember. 49ers had like 12 penalties for 120 yards or so in that game.

At least we had an owner with passion then
I just want to see Eddie D smack Jed for being stupid. Honestly, Jed reminds me of the affluenza teen.

Mushin Muhammad and Wesley Walls (former Niner played behind Brent Jones for years but left).

They also stole Eric Davis & William Floyd from us lol....we stole Kevin Greene for a season as payback hahaha

Muhammad owned Eric Davis.

Too bad Lynch won't be available
i'm assuming we're going to lose (panthers wont miss some of the open guys the rams did and their defense is better overall) but hopefully we can stay competitive and not get blown out like last year in pittsburgh. NFL gave us a s**t hand to start the season

I'm still upset about this. Two freaking years in a row at a 0% chance to gain momentum.
