Yeah, he's not getting cut. He'll make the roster and be the backup.

I agree.

But my thinking is, if Kap is gonna eventually be the starter by week 3, why not be bold and just start the guy against L.A. week one???

Chip obviously isn't too thrilled to even name Gabbert the starter yet, and the season is here.

Right now, he's better than Driskel.

Are he AND his distraction better than Ponder though?

Is he better than paying his salary next year if he gets hurt?

Chip promised a fair competion. With the injury, he had to wait.

You usually want to name the starter by now. After the Packer game with Kap looking bad, Kelly could've easily made the announcement if he were that high on Gab. Somethings up, and I think it's our dumbass front office in coaches ear again.

Factor in what Gabbert makes and it's not a horrible deal

Ponder might be just as effective in chip's offense as kap. This makes baalke look terrible. No way kap gets cut.

How does it make Baalke look terrible?

I totally agree. Baalke controls the 53. Kinda hard to explain to the boss we paid 12 million for 3 QTRs of preseason work.

kap's contract, his level of play, in addition to two guys the rest of the NFL gave up on out performing kap isn't looking good for baalke right now.

That's exactly why the front office wants him gone. They feel they are paying too much. Coaches aren't worried about the financial side of things and want the best players on the field so they can keep their jobs. All I know is that if everyone was on board the Blaine train, he would've been announced starter already. He probably will, but there's definitely conflict.
People are not noticing that Colin still doesn't get the ball downfield and he still looks to throw the ball out of bounds when he rolls to his right
under pressure. He has chosen to create a controversial stance in my opinion as a distraction only. He is taking focus away from the team
pure and simple. I believe he is a cancer, He's lost his job, oh my, what to do???? Why not start playing better and shut the %$#^ up. He doesn't
even try to pick up first downs when a slight turn up field is all it would take. He is acting like he is some diva football player protecting himself
from injury, how about being a football player first, shut up, I get the feeling he is really a moron who has been heavily coached by Dr Harry edwards
for what reason. Nice Fro dude, stop being a joke Colin, you still can't get the ball downfield and haven't led a scoring drive in preseason till now.
Not one, He is not an nfl grade quarterback in my opinion
HE IS NOT FOOLING ME

Did chip run run option in philly as much as blaine, ponder and driskel did in the preseason? Those sets including playaction off of the run option seems very kap friendly.
