A QB need to know every pattern his WR is running. As soon as he stopped his drop back he should have thrown the ball to the middle of the hash marks in front of Crabs right where he ended up. It's called leading your WR.

Vertical stretch over the middle (Shallow Cross concept). Underneath defenders gain depth so the High (85) read is taken away, so target the Low (15).

I expect all positions to play better excluding the QB/WR positions. Thus getting destroyed this Saturday. Gabbert will Gabbert, Driskel will Dorsey N Ponder will just Ponder on why did he sign with us in the 1st place.

Assuming that LB in the middle field turned and ran with the TE and didn't pass him off to the Safety....sure. We can't see what happened there. What we can see is the 49ers clearly have the advantage (6 blockers to 5 rushers) and the play is over in 3 seconds with 3 defenders in the backfield swarming our QB and 4 49ers at the LOS with nobody to block...

He's just expecting the OL to hold up.
Not reading the defense.
Not taking what the defense is giving up.
Doesn't see the blitz until it's too late.

The blitz came right in front of him but Looney and the RB missed the pick up, clearly. I would probably expect two guys to be able to at least slow that one blitzer down. That was just piss poor pass protection. After the still image that was posted, I agree Crab was the only option to survive that play but 6 blockers to 5 rushers and the play is over in 3 seconds with four 49ers sitting at the LOS with nobody to block? Inexcusable

Who was his first read? Probably the combination route on his right got to imagine by the time he got to crab all he saw was broncos

That ball needs to be out of kap's hands to crab right at his first hitch after the drop back.

Qb supposed to read coverage and blitz while dropping back and then anticipate the throw to where a wr should be in his route.

This is what separates the brady's cerebral game from the physical game of the cam newton's.

Kap completed a 5 step drop and bounced twice. That is enough time for Shallow Cross to develop. The blitz is up the middle so Kap sees it and should understand that the internal clock is going to go off. Best reason I can think of why Kap didn't pull the trigger is because the rush came right up the middle, and it blocked Kap's vision to Crabs.
