Not without some major injury issues. I think 4 wins is pretty much the basement for this team.

I'm sure my expectations will go up the closer we get to the season. Happens every year. Like last year and then we dominated the Vikings and man I was like oh man we got a shot. But as of right now I have low expectations next year.

I think we are all somewhat jaded by the lack of success in the past two years. To make matters worse, the combination of a coaching staff that preferred veterans over developing younger talent and a coaching staff that didn't know how to develop talent at any level, has left us all a bit pessimistic. I just know that in a league that is set up to all be between 10-6 and 6-10, it is often easier to make a jump up than it might seem...at least that is what is driving me.

Agreed. I'm just lookin at it as we got 1 player in Free Agency and 1 player in the draft since Garnett is replacing Boone. So adding 2 players and a new coach could improve us but I'm not holding my breath. But if during preseason I see our young but talented players showing improvement I'll gladly change my tone. I just wanna see Tank, Harold, All the WRs, Tartt, and the rookies in preseason show improvement.

That is a fair assessment, IMO. I would add that I expect Garnett to do more than just "replace" Boone. Boone's play really dropped off. He finished in the bottom half of starters last season. On the other side, Tiller finished the season in the mid-teens after a rough start. Those two playing well will have a huge impact.

The other factor I expect to yield better results is that I expect Gabbert to win the QB job and give us better QB play than we have had for two years. He has some flaws but the ones I see are correctable for a guy who is willing to listen. I believe he does that.

A number of other things have to fall into place as well, however, I just do not believe we were as bad as the record showed last season.

I was optimistic about us at least going 8-8 last year and then aldon and borland quite and willis retired. I think we will at least go 7-9 this year and im pretty sure we wont have any more quitters on our team. Gabberts floor is 7-9 minimum. The only way we dont go 7-9 is if he gets hurt somehow.

I strongly believe if kap was benched sooner and hyde stayed healthy we would have gone 8-8 last year anyway.

I honestly expect us to go like 10-6 and stomp the first 5 games or so like we did the vikings last year. Then slowly fall off towards the end of the season as guys get tired.

I'm in the 4-7 win camp. I could see us winning 3 games if we lose the opening game against the Rams and suffer through some injuries. Chip Kelly could very easily lose the locker room again so I wouldn't limit the floor to 4 wins.

I'd bet under the 5.5 win mark if I were to put money on this. The team is almost the same losing Boldin and Boone but replacing them with rookies. Our coaching staff is hopefully better, but that may not materialize into wins right away while players adapt to a new offense. We had no business winning 5 games last year (2 games won on missed field goals), so using 5 games as the floor under the assumption we can't be worse strikes me as absurd. I expect the team to perform better and put up a better +/- differential being competitive more often. That doesn't mean we'll have more wins.

Still won't guess, but for some reason I see us beating SEA in game 3. We end up getting a huge boost from both draft and UDFAs.

I've been on board with the over 5.5 for months, especially now that we have a HC that actually knows how to call plays on offense, I'll stick with the over...

Strength of schedule is almost useless. Unless were playing the 2015 versions of all these teams with our 2015 roster, strength of schedule has very little predictive value. Too much parity in the NFL to count on last years numbers.

Our young team is one year more experienced with a much better coaching staff. Were not going to have a worse season than last year.

Some of you guys seem to be punch drunk. Last year 5-11, put down two losses to crap coaching and another 2 to a crap o-line = 9-7, playoffs.

The 49ers had one of the league's worst defenses last year, it was miracle to get 5 wins all things considered. If the rookies take a while to acclimate or don't make a quick impact combining that with the up tempo offense putting more pressure on the defense you could still end up with a 5 win team. No matter how much improved the offense is, it won't matter if the defense can't stop anybody.
