If he wanted to that bad, or wanted out of SF that bad, he would have been gone already...

How do you figure that? He's under contract. Or have you not paid attention to what's been happening since last week.

So did hue jackson and vrabel. One would rather be a Brown and another would rather take a demotion.

Plus last year it took Baalke absolutely ages to fill the coaching vacancies after announcing Tomsula as the new HC that replaces Harbaugh. And when Baalke did eventually fill the jobs, they were all unknown scrubs.

This and the HC we hired pretty much had 0 other NFL job chances.

And that is how the 49ers ended up with O'Neill this year.

I wonder how many said "no thank you" before finally finding some no name coaches to accept?
I'm wiping my tears with our 5 Lombardi's
The stench on this franchise is pretty bad right now

We were a 3-13 team with Tomsula that won 2 extra games because our opponents missed field goals (one was blocked). 2nd worst team in the league in +/-. The status quo is not 5-11 - we were damn lucky (unlucky from a draft position perspective) to win 5 games this year. With better coaching and a worse team, we may go 4-12. If we improve from having the worst offense in the league, I hope we keep Chip Kelly. It's unrealistic to expect any coach to have success with this roster.

How are we a worse team than last year? We lost a Guard (Boone) that didn't even play well last year, that's it. We are one week into Free Agency and we still have 12 draft picks to get better, with three of those coming in the top 70. It's hard to imagine us not being more talented by the start of the season Combine that with the fact that our coaching staff is worlds better than what we had last year and I'd say we will be drastically improved both from a talent and coaching standpoint..

So far we have brought in no one worth mentioning in free agency. In terms of talent, this team will be similar to last year's team after the draft. Before the draft, it's worse. Kelly is a better coach than Tomsula, but I'm not counting on a new scheme being a huge positive year 1.

We got worse on offense. Our offensive line should be even worse this year with our one good lineman getting a year older (Staley) and our 2nd best offensive lineman leaving in free agency. Anthony Davis may decide to come back, but I'm not holding my breath. If we use our first round pick on Ronnie Stanley, our offensive line is about a wash compared to last year. We may be stuck with Gabbert as our starting QB which would be a downgrade from Kaepernick, albeit a small downgrade. We're losing Anquan Boldin who was our #1 WR last year. We traded away Vernon Davis midway through the season last year.

On defense, we're similar so far. Our front 7 may get a little better if we draft Buckner or Jack. Ahmad Brooks will likely continue to decline, so we'll be counting on a 2nd/3rd round pick to bring pressure opposite Lynch. Hopefully our secondary continues to improve along with Arik Armstead who is one of the few bright spots on the team.

The team may end up scrapping the 2016 season, picking a QB at 7, and redshirting them.
