They're not going to pay him 12 million dollars to compete for the starting job.

Right. If we do, We are Cleveland.

And it's not hard to judge his headwork with all the film we have on him.

Don't really care about the money and form is always up and down but I care most about the attitude. Kaep didn't look like he wanted to be on the team and the team didn't look like they wanted him to either. Time to hit the road.
Wow! 53% to 47%. That's closer than what I thought it would have been. I honestly thought there were more Kaep haters than Kaep lovers on NT.
Not

I still remember back in 2012 when Alex Smith got benched, practically 90% of fans were on board with it. I was one of the few fans who was kind of on the fence about it.

That's why today when people are like "I knew it! I knew they should have kept Smith!!" it kind of infuriates me because I'm almost positive they weren't so anti-Kaepernick back when he first started for us.

Our fanbase is so fickle it's not even funny.

Agreed. I was pissed when they benched Smith for Kaep back in 2012 but that superbowl run eventually changed my mind. Kaep definitely has some glaring flaws but I still don't think he's reached his ceiling yet. On the other hand, if he doesn't turn some of those flaws into strengths, he will never reach that ceiling. This is why I'm on the fence about Kaep now. I'm intrigued by the potential of a Chip/Kaep offense but I wouldn't be in the least bit pissed off if it never happens.
It's funny because I didn't agree with it at all and I'm probably Kaep's biggest fan too.. the whole thing was handled wrong IMO.

You been on terminator Netflix watching bender or something?
If Kap does comeback. When he gets Kelly's playbook he better be ass deep in it.

Kap fits in Chips system like a glove, he just needs to work on check downs and having a quicker more accurate release
I guess it depends on what kind of deal other teams are prepared to offer.

Great point. If we aren't offered atleast a 4th for him though, I would keep him for another year. If he doesn't win the starting job, I would straight up release him before the deadline next year.

Being able to run really fast in a straight line will only get you so far in an offense which by Kelly's own admission is primarily dependent on consistent accuracy and quick decision making on the part of the QB.

We all know Kaep doesn't have that even during his successful years. Kaeps physical tools overshadowed the flaws and now that everyone can defend his physical talents the flaws are overshadowing and he still has yet to improve. Gabbert can run Kelly's offense and he's the cheaper option. I think Kaep gets released to open up the bank for more FA's while Kelly see's what Gabbert his since I think he has one year left on his contract anyway. Meanwhile they draft a QB as well. I think this is Gabberts best shot at resurrecting his career and he knows it.

He's had years to work on those and he still doesn't show improvment
