Denver had a great pass rush tonight...but the key to it is a very stout front. The big guys up front enabled Ware and Miller to harass Cam all game. I keep hearing Niner fans saying the team needs more pass rushers...and to an extent, I agree with them. But, if Baalke can't upgrade the front 3 significantly, it won't matter what pass rushers he acquires. It's an old saying, but Denver proved tonight it's still very true...it all starts up front. Hopefully Armstead will be ready to start next season...but the NT and other DE positions just aren't good enough to propel our pass rushers to success. That's why I'm advocating for a real beast at NT...and sorry, Ian Williams fans, he's not that guy. My choice is Jets NT Damon Harrison...he's arguably as good as any NT at stuffing the run. I also think Malik Jackson would be a significant upgrade over Dial at the other DE position. Wilkerson would be the ultimate, but I'm sure the Jets will try their darndest to keep him. I also like Denver's Trevathan at ILB. Fortunately, this is a heckuva draft for DL...and Baalke needs to get a couple of 'em. The 2015 season exposed our front for what it is...woefully inadequate. Time to fix it.

I agree with everything but the idea that we need to replace Ian. Ian is fantastic, not a great pass rusher, but he is a NT. Damon Harrison is not significantly better then Ian, he also benefits from playing next to Wilkerson Richardson and Williams. We need to upgrade the right end spot badly(assuming arik takes the left side) and a did more depth.

Pass rush was solid, but they really smothered the run (like we use to do). They made Car one dimensional then got after Cam. That's pretty much the key to stopping any Qb. We really need to find the Next Justin Smith, just a blue collar kick ass cowboy with an endless motor. I think what he brought to this team was under rated.

The key is finding a QB. These great defenses can win you a SB, but there's no longevity. The bears, bucs, ravens, seahawks, and probably broncos all one year wonders. There hasn't been a defensive dynasty since the 70s.
