Chips draft

We should be hoping that Ronnie Stanley or Tunsil fall to us. We need to solidify our Oline before any other area is addressed on offense. Without a good Oline Kelly's scheme won't be effective, no scheme can be effective with that trash Oline we had last season.

Maybe Buckner? Not just because he went to Oregon, but I think we need another DE that has the potential to be dominant. I think this could become more likely if the 49ers are convinced they can get what they need out of Gabbert, Kaepernick , or a QB later. I'd stick to defense overall and add a few skill position players on O. Build the O-line in free agency.

Go get the best two OL available. A WR taller than 6'2", 2-DL, a TE that can run all the routes and 2-ML backers.

That's 8 picks. Trade some of those 12-picks to get higher picks this year.

This would be based off of what they got in free agency first.

I'd like to address the guards via FA, at least one of the spots. Can't put hopes on a rookie to shore up the interior OL no matter how much potential he has coming out of the draft. Need to assess Martin and Thomas as potential to fill in at the other guard spot. If the 49ers go OL in the 1st, I'd like a OT prospect to learn behind Staley and as a fallback for ADavis.

Otherwise I'm all for going DE again to get that position right. Dial to me is serviceable, but I'd like dominance. The 49ers also 'lost' a DE when Tank got moved to OLB. Dorsey won't be back till midseason. Either way, it's all about the trenches for me. A playmaking WR is sexy, but I think the team needs to stay with the basics by fortifying the OL/DL.

I've heard some say to get a QB late in the 1st or early 2nd (Wentz). I know nothing about the prospects coming out but that sounds good to me, while hoping Kap/Gabbert can adapt to Chip's offense.

uhmmm, as much as I know that Treadwell is now on our list because of Kelly, I still think that we need to take care of our OL first..

we no longer need Kaep, Gabbert can do the job as well as Bradford did in Philly and to think about it, we can draft Kelly (QB) and let him sit there for about 2 years as he learns what the NFL is all about..

We then hire Frank Reich as the QB coach and have him babysit Kelly the way his uncle (Jim Kelly) baby-sat Frank back in Buffalo..

Hopefully Anthony Davis comes back. That would greatly change the outlook for the draft. If he does, and Treadwell is available, I would love to see the team draft Treadwell in the first, and then Germain Ifedi from Texas A&M in the second round. He is lineman with great tools and lateral movement, but needs some work, and his scouting profile says he would be best fit with an aggressive coaching staff who will work to improve his consistency. He measures 6'5 and 320, and can play Tackle or Guard.

They evidently expect him to run in the 4.3's at the combine. He seems like DeSuan Jackson with a lot more maturity and a little bigger.

I was wondering what players were drafted under Chip in Philly just to see how they did.

2013

• Lane Johnson: Johnson is the only Eagles offensive lineman who is playing reasonably well at the moment, and he is outperforming the two OTs who were drafted ahead of him, Eric Fisher and Luke Joeckel.

• Zach Ertz: Ertz has high expectations this season but has not yet developed into a complete tight end.

• Bennie Logan: Logan has been a force along the interior of the Eagles defensive line so far this season. He appears to be a player who is making a big jump in his third year.

• Matt Barkley: Traded for a bag of peanuts.

• Earl Wolff: Released by the Eagles, currently out of the league.

• Joe Kruger: Released by the Eagles, currently out of the league.

• Jordan Poyer: Released by the Eagles, now playing for Cleveland.

• David King: Released by the Eagles, now playing for Seattle.



2014
• Marcus Smith: Healthy scratch last week against the Cowboys. Did not register a single tackle his rookie season.

• Jordan Matthews: Matthews had a very good rookie season.

• Josh Huff: 8 catches for 98 yards his rookie season, 4 catches for 39 yards so far in 2014.

• Jaylen Watkins: Released by the Eagles, now on Buffalo's practice squad.

• Taylor Hart: Active for the first time on game day last week in Atlanta. Had two tackles in Atlanta, one against the Cowboys. He could have a bigger role with Cedric Thornton expected to miss a couple games.

• Ed Reynolds: Released by the Eagles each of the last two years, now on the Eagles' practice squad.

• Beau Allen: 12 tackles his rookie season, two so far in 2015.



2015

• Nelson Agholor: Played the second-most snaps among Eagles wide receivers and Sam Bradford has missed him a few times when he has been open, but Agholor has not gotten off to a fast start. 4 catches, 36 yards.

• Eric Rowe: Has been active in each of the first two games, but has not been able to get on the field in the regular defense.

• Jordan Hicks: Entered the game against Dallas in relief of an injured Kiko Alonso, and played well.

• JaCorey Shepherd: Injured reserve.

• Randall Evans: Released by the Eagles, now on the Eagles' practice squad.

• Brian Mihalik: Released by the Eagles, not currently on an NFL roster.

Also I don't want to stand Pat with what we have as in Pass Rushers. We need an upgrade there.

I'd prefer not to, but we're not going to find a pass rusher through the draft that can impact the game next year unless we use our 1st rd pick on one. Typically, teams won't let go of impact pass rushers either. If we add someone, it'll likely just be for depth.
